Just thought I'd made an intro thread, seeing as there is no official one.

So, I'm pretty in to video games and such. I'm educated in the use of the internet, so I wont be noobing it up too much around here.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello.

I, for one, welcome a giant block of oppression. Though there are other "Hello, I'm new here" threads don't feel bad for starting your own. The forum search function is right on the top right corner of the main forum pages where you can browse topics by textual search. Though it's unrefined, it helps to check if something's been done before.

Now that that's all been said, welcome to The Escapist! I hope to see some solid contributions from you on the various topics we mull over around here.

Well, I assume there was some other threads on the same topic, but on some forums I've been on, there is a stickied thread made to say 'Hi, I'm new.' Maybe this would be a good idea.

Anyway, thanks for the welcomes.

The Iron Ninja heartily welcomes this cinder block of oppression, since the Iron Ninja is a shallow bastard and has been lured into a childish abandonment of the usual cold hearted "this thread was done before" nonsense by the big words used in the profile name, not to mention the socialist banana.

Welcome! Welcome to Escapist.com! You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining Internet Utopias. I thought so much of Escapist.com, that I elected to establish my administration, here, in the Forums, so thoughtfully provided by our benefactors. I am proud to call Escapist.com my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through to parts unknown, welcome, to Escapist.com. It's safer here.

Sorry, it felt appropriate.

IB4TL. There have been multiple examples of these that get shutdown before too long. Maybe yours will be the one that doesn't. But I've made my call and I stand by it.

This is why it is recommended that one lurk a bit before posting for the first time.

Welcome to the forums.

Communist banana... gah, yougins' these days...

Also, OP, welcome to The Escapist. May I suggest that, if you would like a "Hi, I'm new" thread to be sticked for new-comers, I would suggest PMing (personal messaging) a moderator, who have the power to sticky threads. Two such moderators are 'nilcypher' and 'wilsoncrazybed' (just search them in the profile search, or even forum search).

If you have problems with PMing, just ask; I'm sure other members (as well as I) would not mind helping you.

Welcome to the jungle...er, the Escapist. Looking over the posts you've made so far I'd say your best bet is to read "Posting on the Forum and You" (that would be the sticky thread). Lurk the forum and get a sense for the culture 'round these parts. Remember, creating topics on your first day is probably a no-no unless you've used forum search and gotten a good sense for how people will react.

Beyond that, remember, this isn't GameFAQs, it isn't /b/, and it isn't Barrens Chat. Quality matters. But don't let that scare you. Post intelligently and insightfully and you'll be racking up the friends in no time.

EDIT: So yeah, you can just go ahead and ignore this.

Salutations! I don't really know what I'm supposed to discuss here (which is probably why these types of threads are so frowned upon, as the forums are meant for discussion from which social bonds form, rather than the reverse) but I will offer my welcome, and my aid if you need anyone to explain how things work in these here parts or if you need someone to proof-read a piece of writing.

You're a little late to the party. If you read the date of the last post, it reads Oct 2008. Also, the fact that the OP has 250+ posts to his name should be a tipoff.
Seems like a bad case of thread necromancy.

Haha, sorry, my bad. Too many tabs open at once and I forget what's fresh and what's me just reading people's previous posts. I'll just stand over here now...
