Super Bowl 44 As Seen In Tecmo Super Bowl

Relive the devastating fourth quarter interception of a Peyton Manning pass in Super Bowl XLIV with the digital recreation of the play in Tecmo Super Bowl.

The New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts in Super 44 for the franchise's first championship. But their victory was not assured until Tracy Porter picked off a Peyton Manning pass in the fourth quarter and returned it for a touchdown. Now you can relive that moment again and again in the only way a gaming geek would want to, in the pixels of Tecmo Super Bowl. Youtube user, MrNFL [http://www.youtube.com/user/MrNFL], used the Super NES version of the game, emulated with a ROM containing 2009 player's names and stats, to recreate the play. He uses the real audio from the announcers during the Super Bowl over the play, which makes it seem all the more authentic.

That's not the only play that MrNFL has uploaded to Youtube. He also has painstakingly recreated Eli Manning's pass [http://www.youtube.com/user/MrNFL#p/u/5/JBDOxvYHgxI] to David Tyree in Super XLII.

I have to admit that these videos make me more happy than they should.

someone had too much time on their hands, but still freakin' awesome!

I kind of wish they made the graphics of the real super bowl just be Tecmo-esque. That would piss off a lot of 50 inch HD watching tards.

Heh heh, that was fun to watch. Although any time some one mentions that Brett Favre pass I feel depressed for a half-hour...

I wish they would do something like this with the classic football (EU) Games!

Brett Favre's improbable pass
Is broken.

But yeah, this is pretty cool. It helps if you've actually seen the plays in question, though. Now I'll have to track down footage of all of these passes...

This would be stupid if he used any game other than Tecmo Super Bowl.

Tecmo Super Bowl was and is the end all, be all of football games. Even today's Madden and NCAA series don't touch TSB in the fun factor.

TSB was the first video game I ever played, and I still love it to this day.

Wow, detailed and lot of time and effort into such a good video. They even got the block in the back on Peyton in there, lol.
