Now that's pretty awesome. Like Duke Nukem 3D with worse graphics and 2D.
This is a joke, right? You are aware of the original Duke Nukem games?

So Mario would've been Samus Aran with man boobs instead of the female kind, basically.

Of course I'm aware of the original Duke Nukem games! In fact if you've played Duke Nukem 3D it even has Duke Nukem II.

Phew. Sorry, I laughed at the joke then realised that you might be serious.

Nintendo would never do that. Besides, they invent everything. Remember their prototype Miis that date back to the NES and their online games that date back to the 40s?

I smell a gritty reboot.

I think it could a hilarious spoof actually, do a parody of the Halo universe using all the mario characters. Guaranteed lulz.

So.... Wouldnt Halo resemble an older and unused Mario Format, since Mario was before Halo?
Yeah, that's also what I thought... Kinda misleading title.

I'm glad SMB turned out to be the way it is now.

It was almost Mario's lack of abilities that made the game what it was
It was his lack of abilities that made the game what it was: simple, and fun.

Ah yes the online games from the 40s... played with playing cards that detect motion.

As a genius as he is, sometimes I feel that Mr. Miyamoto is batshit crazy, but if it wasn't for his genius, we wouldn't be playing Zelda, Pikmin, crappy waggle music games and Mario of course.
Well, as I recently heard in a tv show called 'genius',

A genius is basically just a lunatic that happens to have a good idea.

i read the title and pictured Mario in power armor in a Doom-esq enviroment..and i liked what i saw.

How amazing is it to find these things out? what could of been for bad or worse, i think back to MovieBobs latest Article.

if halo was released in 85 and saved gaming like mario did and mario came out when halo did and appealed to frat kids and jocks, mario would be getting all kinds of hate and flamers and trolls would be all over halo

Well for those who blame Halo on ruining games after its release, it also defied time by (almost) ruining a game from the past! :p

In all seriousness, I not only would like to have seen how that could have turned out, but I wouldn't mind seeing a 3D Mario/Space Marine game.
