I think this would be a fair point if there actually was any platforming featured in the hubs. Granted I haven't played galaxy, but sunshine and 64 just had the hub as a place to walk around. The most 'platforming' featured was maybe jumping up to a hidden ledge and finding a sneaky little bonus stage, which can easily be replicated in the levels themselves, ala super mario world.HardRockSamurai said:I hope that they're making this choice in order to facilitate more game content (ie- more levels, bonus stages, etc.) I've always liked to think that the "hub worlds" were staples of 3D Mario games, but I can't really complain about the "map interface." We'll ultimately be able to navigate between levels far more efficiently, but it kinda makes me wonder if this kinda thing could subtract from the 3D Platforming experience.
Yeah and then all your objectives would be on the other side of steep mountains that are impossible to climb so instead you have to drive all the way around these giant chains in a bland, nothing-to-see world where nothing really happens. Sounds good.Fappy said:Then you drive on the surface to find the exact location in some kind of Mario Mako.dagens24 said:There should be a map system where we have to slowly scan the planet for a level and then shoot out a probe to survey it.
