I bought both versions. I was originally going to wait to get it on the computer but I sort of caved in and wanted to play it right away. So bought it on the 360, a month later got it on Steam.

Why I try not to get hyped by games anymore, makes the waiting unbearable. (Curse you Portal 2!)

Whats the lesson?

That mircosoft is clueless about what makes games good or bad and runs their business off of sale numbers, spreadsheets, and accepting funding from advertising.

Also, imagine how many more copies would have been sold if they did have the #1, more but probably not really THAT much more. I honestly think most people were set on which system they were going to buy it on and just got the version they wanted most. Which leads me to the biggest lesson learned from this:

PC GAMING IS BACK BABY!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

...okay maybe not, but it is making progress. :)

That's pretty even sales, actually.

Still no possibility of PS3 love...Ah, well.

I'll be picking up the retail version.

Any word of Castle Crashers for PC, yet?

Because the exclusivity deal is gone, as seen by the existence of the PS3 version.
Meh, the lack of local co-op, which is really a big deal in a game like Castle Crashers, discourages this.

Castle Crashers is, to me, console gaming's raison d'etre. It gives me fun with local co-op that LAN parties and online multiplayer can't substitute very well.

In any case, I'd like to push forward the notion that Super Meat Boy wins on PC because of headcrabs.

It's sad that it's breaking news when a PC game actually outsells a console game. It just shows how rare the event is.

And the gap between PC and XBLA could grow even greater next month, as the boxed Super Meat Boy Ultra Edition [http://www.amazon.com/Super-Meat-Boy-Ultra-Pc/dp/B004NS77OM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1299012549&sr=8-1], featuring unreleased artwork, a behind-the-scenes look at the game, a soundtrack and more, finally hits retail.
The PC version of Super Meat Boy is going to be released at retail? That is fantastic news! I might actually get the game now.

Not when you consider that this is the day of the console. Nearly every game (with Meat Boy possibly being the one and only exception), games on both PC and Console do far better on the consoles. Even when the game is better-suited to the PC platform (such as the CoD series). So even it's a fairly close win, it's still a win.

Wow. I thought MS was a douchebag only with GFWL. Their nature carries on to XBLA as well?

Anyway, kudos to Team Meat. I guess this is another testimony to the superiority of Steam's distribution for both indie and AAA titles. And I'm guessing an incoming level editor is gonna help as well.
At least XBL works as intended, which is far more than GFWL will ever be able to even hope to say. It was a nightmare getting that thing running. I really feel sorry for my computer.

OT: While this is good news for Team Meat, and does seems to suggest that companies should actually make half decent PC versions of their games to make real money and abandon exclusives forever, I don't hold out much hope that developers or publishers will ever realize that.

"Microsoft apparently told the studio that the better the game performed, the more it would be pushed."

Thats just stupid. You can get fed, but only after you find something to eat...
