Which musicians would you have on your supergroup and what role would they have. My supergroup would consist of:
-Russel Allen (Symphony X) doing what he does best
-Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) and Chuck Schuldiner(Death) sharing guitars
-Neil Peart(Rush) on drums obviously
-Couldn't decide between Cliff Burton(Metallica) or Christia Olde Wolbers(Fear Factory) as who to be the bassist

I'd have myself in all roles.
We would soon go bankrupt.
And I would be forced to live away from other humans for the rest of my life.
I'm that bad with music. Although I am good at whistling.

Till Lindemann doing vocals.
Ringo Starr on drums.
Anthony Gonzalez making all sorts of crazy synthy sounds.
That crazy homeless guy I always see at the train station playing guitar.
Danny Elfman on rhythm guitar.
Jack Bruce on bass.
The guy Danny McBride played in Tropic Thunder working pyrotechnics.

Fuck that would be an awesome show.
I would pay to see it.

-Neil Peart (Rush) on drums
-Jimi Hendrix (Jimi freaking Hendrix) on lead guitar
-Freddie Mercury (Queen) as lead singer
-Weird Al (Weird Al) on mad accordion solos
-Barry White (Barry White) as backup singer
-Allen Lanier (Blue Oyster Cult) on keyboard

This would be either hilariously terrible or amazingly awesome. I'd be happy either way.

I already listen to the two supergroups I would put together. Tool and Dream Theater. I suppose I could make a crazy mashup with the members of those bands, but I have no idea who to keep and who to ditch. So it would probably end up like this:

Maynard James Keenan on vocals, with James Labrie on some songs.
Danny Carey and Mike Portnoy on percussion.
Adam Jones and John Petrucci on guitars.
John Myung and Justin Chancellor on bass.
And last but not least, Jordan Rudess on keyboard.

Yeah, I don't have a good imagination :p

Has anyone ever read the Red Dwarf Books? Specifically the first one?

Mine is basically that band they use in that:

Mozart on Piano
Jimi Hendrix on Lead guitar
Stephane Grappelli on Piano/violin
Charlie Parker on Sax
Yehudi Menuhin on Violin
Buddy Rich on Drums
...
Oh and Jellybean on Computer programs.

though I could sub Charlie Hunter ( 7 string Guitar ), John Coltrane ( Sax ), Art Blakey ( Drums ), Hiromi Uehara ( Piano ). Hell I could do this all night.

Off the top of my head:

Jon Toogood, (Shihad,) - Vocals/Guitar
Chris Cheney, (The Living End) - Lead Guitar
Dave Grohl, (Foo Fighters et al.) - Drums
Mike Dirnt, (Green Day,) - Bass

Dirnt is under-rated, his recent work is pretty standard but back in the day he was excellent.
