Greetings Everyone,

Was just wondering why are superhero games so hard to make and if anyone knew of any good ones? I mean yes there is Batman Arkham games and the Infamous games. But those are really the only ones I can think of. So I was wondering if anyone here had come across any other good superhero games?

Prototype is, sort of, a superhero game. You have to use your powers to save the city. The people in the city, not so much, but the city gets saved. However given porting and stuff I think you pretty much have to get it on 360 for the full experience. PS3 has control issues and I've heard bad things about the porting to the PC.

Both of the X-men Legends games are really, really good.

Especially if you can get a couple of friends to play with you.

Spiderman 2 and Spiderman: Web of Shadows were very good. The main problem I can think of is that most superhero games are also movie tie-in games, and those are rushed so that they could work as advertising for the movies. Spiderman 2 (and Spiderman: The Movie The Game) were good because they mixed up the story. They added villains, added storylines, changed around things in the movie that wouldn't work for a game, and basically did whatever they could while still keeping to the themes of the Spiderman movies.

Other than batman arkum asylum i cant think of any , i dont really consider informus or prototype , actual super hero games because they aren't really heros . They do have powers and stuff but thats like calling cloud from FF7 a super hero . Sure he did save the world and has suer human powers but hes not a super hero.

I guess making a "good" game is hard enough let alone when you include super heroes, because after all they are heroes in every sence of the word, even the villans have large fan followings because they are iconic figures, there is litteraly way too much information in your average superhero like say batman to ever incorperate into a game so somone is always going to be disapointed at a certain part of the game, the same goes for films too; very few defy expectations and please a large audiance. Fact of life you can't please everyone and often at times anyone. I could go on but it'd just be more rambling nonsense.

City of Heroes.

Unless you're acutely averse to MMOs I'd suggest checking it out. The character customisation is vast, and there's an insane number of potential character class and power combinations - over 600 last time I checked, and all very well balanced. Really, if you can think of a character concept then chances are you'll be able to make that character.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and, Ultimate Alliance 2. The second was a sort of step forward, step back kind of game but it had Deadpool which is always a big plus.

(didn't mean to post the whole boss fight but it's still a good one and it's chock-full of Deadpool!)

While I'm here...how was the Superman game on the original Xbox? Was it terrible or was it just bad? I've been curious about it but I've never had a chance to give it a shot.
