Yes thats the Superman Motto but from my limited reading's and viewing of Superman he treats himself as more of a peace ambassador to all nations and also he does denounce his citizenship to America at one point in the comic'snewfoundsky said:

Superman specifically goes out of his way to not solve every problem on Earth, so people don't start worshiping him as a god and relying on him to do everything for them. I imagine he'll only truly get involved in matters if his loved ones are involved, if a potentially catastrophic war began, or if super villains started popping up.

One think I find weird is how "high moral superheroes" always lick Uncle Sam's boots.
They can see and hear different tragedies and problems of humans, but they prefer "the American way".
Let's skip city heroes like Batman and Spider-Man.
But international heroes that can travel around the world, should also help other countries as well.
Yes I know comic publishers are mostly Americans, and sell to US, but they also need to think outside of the box.

I would disagree with that in some sense i think Superman would move in disaster situations like big building fires and such maybe not so much petty crime.Alaster Angelo said:

Actually, if superman somehow flew fast enough to go back in time himself, (and you ignore a bunch of reasonable conjecture) then, from the perspective of superman, the earth would rotate in the opposite direction. Thus, his direction of travel was irrelevant and he did not reverse the rotation of the earth which then turned back time but rather he flew so fast he went back in time and demonstrating that to the audience simply shows the earth's rotation slow and then reverse as we're watching the sequence from superman's perspective on time.Sacman said:

I don't think Superman will confine to the US only as he will be helping and saving other on a global scale and the other nations would hate the idea of him being on US soil only.
I think the important factor is can Superman ideals and morality can hold up against the realism of reality? Would he stay incorruptible and true or would he start to worn down over time?

This is a really, really good point. Also, one could do something similar with the Flash and a treadmill.
I am suddenly picturing Cyclops (of the X-Men) gaining favor for mutants by sitting in an empty nuclear reactor staring at water all day. He boils the water (instead of the nuclear reaction) which powers the turbine. Thus Cyclops replaces the nuclear materials and does so without any waste (well, without nuclear waste - his normal waste is flushable).
I wonder how many other superheroes could be re-purposed as cheap electricity....
Well, assuming that his back story is the same (what with the landing in a cornfield in middle America, being raised as a citizen, etc) there is a very good chance that he would.
