Telepathy, telekinesis, perhaps control over electricity, as well as augmented strength, intelligence, and senses. These side effects continue to grow in power until you achieve immortality via ascension.

I wouldn't say it's too great. You get the sniffles, then you get to be almighty for a week or two, and then you ascend to a higher plane, making your physical form explode with enough energy to constitute a nuclear bomb.
