"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."

So, has anyone ever beaten the bonus mission in CoD4 on Veteran difficulty? I've gotten as far as the hallway to the last room before the timer runs out or I get butt raped by some hijacker with his own little "last stand". Got a strategy or some pointers?

I'm dying the most in the Executive cabin, where the wall is blown off. Second most on the staircase immediately after that.

Well, crap. Ninja'd the OP himself.

I haven't beaten Mile High Club on anything but the easiest difficulty, so... *shrugs*

Yeah, I beat it. My advice is this: make sure you know where each enemy is, and how to counetr them. Use the flashbangs all the time, 4 on the lower level, 4 on the upper (you come across some more upstairs). That's pretty much the best I can do for ya. It took me a long time too.

It's really ugly, I made it through once but I think it was sheer luck. Every other time I ran out of time or got shot by some highjacker. Best advice is flashbangs and run - use your knife and surprise enemies around the corners.

I have, run and gun. but trust me, memorize where every villain is, otherwise you just can't do it.

Its very methodical
Everytime I tried I did it, I spoke my way through it
- Run
- Knife
- Run
- Flash
- Run/Gun
- Hide
- Reload
- Flash
- Run gun
- Stairs
- Gun
- Sideways
- Gun
- Run
- Flash
- Reload
- Run/Gun
- Headshot
- Bail

Oh wait I missed one, the first ones should be
- Pray to Lord
- Four Leaf Clover Breakfast
- Get +Karma
- Prepare for swearing

Its all luck basically, but even still, you need a lot of skill to get it
Mines done, and that day I was happy
Good luck
You'll need it

I have, basically kept throwing myself at it till I knew where everyone was and just got in a routine.

Didn't get an achievement though as I was on PC, just good ol' satisfaction.

Alright, so I started playing this single map at about 10 PM. I just turned off my console at about 6:20 AM the next morning.
No achievement.
Never came close to the VIP.
Never figured out a decent method.
My team was comprised of retards at worst and sentient corn mash at best.
The enemy shot only at me.
Flash-bangs worked half the time on the enemy, 100% of the time on me.
Reload times gave the enemy plenty of time to earfrack me.
When my team wasn't shooting me, they were getting shot by me.
The enemy shotguns had the range of sniper rifles, the ROF of a machine gun, and the knockdown power of an 18" Artillery cannon.
The enemy SMGs were probably loaded with laser-guided bullets.
My gun had the power of a poorly crafted slingshot loaded with styrofoam.
And, to top it all off, the enemy always knew where I was.

I'm not complaining about the difficulty. Hell, I love difficult games. I'm complaining about how developers opt for grossly unbalancing the game in lieu of actually tweaking a couple programs in the AI. It's shit like this that makes certain games unplayable and generally unfair.

Fuck the achievement. I could have leveled up a good five or six times in the time it took me to decide loosing sleep over a gamerscore would be worthwhile.

I appreciate the help you guys offered, but appears to be in vain.

Too bad developers decide to cut corners on shit like this.

I did it, once. Luckily it was the last achievement I needed for the game so I never needed to do it again.

After that I just played Multiplayer.

I love this description. Mind if I steal it for personal use?

OT
Yeah. All I have to say is remember the lemming. Charge in blindly and frequently. Keep doing this until your memory of the level borders premonition.

Run everywhere.
Remember where the enemies are and where you have to go, this can be done on normal because enemy spawns do not change.
Do not reload, grab a new weapon when the one you're using runs out of bullets.
Hope the enemies miss you.

Those 4 points, especially the second, will help you survive. The fourth is important too but also the only one that you can't influence.

I finally did it two weeks ago... was one of the best feelings I've had as a gamer, beating that horrible mission. But hey... 1000GP on COD4 now, woohoo!

It's like learning a complex ballet, your timing of every move has to be perfect and there is no margin for error.

You also need to get lucky. Took me about 30 or 40 goes I'd say.

Yes, it was easy.
After playing hardcore online for as long as I did, that mission was easy mode. I just hated how useless my team mates were. They never shot anything! I had to shoot every single buy myself. But regardless of that, I beat it on my fourth try.

Get a friend to do it for you.

...well, you wanted advice, and my friend actually wanted to do it for me, so I let him.

I finished cod 4 on hardened just before my xbox bricked, which is a shame because I was about to try it on veteran...

The best way to beat the level is to go on youtube and look at how some of the other people do it. Once you get the idea, you should do your best to emulate them. It took me 4 tries after watching the video.

BTW, aim for the head. :)
