Surge 2 [Begun!]

"hm an airplane,now where could we find one of those" terrible mused, tapping his chin before turning around to the airport hangars behind him.

"I`l be right back" terrible said over his shoulder walking towards a hangar and looking inside, it was empty, he moved to the next hangar and found a two seater jet.

"dammit not big enough" terrible snapped slamming his fist against the hangar wall creating a massive dent before moving onto the next one, this time finding what appeared to be a private charter business jet.

"hell yeah, this`ll do" terrible said with a satisfied smile on his face, he then turned back to Nathan and jogged back informing him of the plane.

"well Nathan my good sir, looks like we`re going to Washington" terrible laughed shooting a bolt of lightning into the air in celebration.

"A charter jet eh? Well we shouldn't waste any time then"

Nathan and the pilot, whose name was Carl, had made there way to the aircraft and were now inspecting it.

"Carl, can you fly this thing?"

"It is a Cessna Citation CJ4 business jet. I am indeed able to pilot it"

Turning to Terrible, Nathan motioned to the loading ramp

"Lets get out of here before this city kills itself"

"about time, this city was starting to piss me off" terrible said through gritted teeth as he gave the huddled masses of the airport staff, looks of terror on their faces, one last look of disgust before boarding the plane and sitting down on one of the seats off to the side, rummaging through the nearby mini-fridge for something to eat.

"damn,this plane is pretty damn swanky, hey Nathan, you gotta check this stuff out" terrible shouted outside to Nathan as he pulled out a bottle of champagne and poured two glasses one for himself and one for Nathan.

Cecia took a deep breath after stumbling into the alley way, which was deserved after spending he last few hours running, crawling through vents, and hiding. The alley had an almost otherworldly feel to it, as if there was a supernatural force lurking amongst the discarded newspapers and broken bottles. The brick walls were covered in various forms of grass, mostly weeds.

"What's going on?" Cecia muttered under her breath, as if expecting the darkness to give reply. However, it actually did.

Are you asking the shadows, or talking to yourself? Dark Mist asked, with a bit of sarcasm in its voice. Either way, your still crazy...

"Oh goddammit, you're real?" She asked, shaking her in disbelief.

No, I'm not real. Dark Mist cackled, echoing inside of the girl's mind.Of course I'm real, I'm talking to you aren't I?

Let's get down to business, shall we? I'm looking for a...certain type of person, people with super human abilities, people like you. If you help me find these people, I'll bring you to the man you call 'Ray'.

Her eyes widened at the mention of Ray. She had assumed that he went missing a few days ago, not aware of how long she had spent in cryo.

"How do I know you're telling the truth? You could just be lying! I have no reason to trust you!" She yelled, uncaring if it drew any attention to herself.

Good point. Dark mist mused. You have no reason not to trust me. I broke you out of the lab and helped you escape! I cut the fucking power to the facility, allowing you to see the light of day!

So, what's it going to be?

"Fine, I'll help." She answered, biting down on her lip.

This character isn't working to well for me, but with the possession and transforming, I can basically switch back and forth between the abomination Cecia shall become in my next post and her normal form.

Surge 2 - GM = Stagnation

For those of you who need more than a simple sum, ThreeWords disappeared and we ended up unable/unwilling to continue without a bit of plot/story from him. Hell, I would have accepted him controlling his own character again.

He pretty much left us on our own, it was entirely up to us to keep the story moving.

This is what I call "the clusterfuck theory of RP death".

People separate themselves into groups that are too small and go off on their own, creating multiple arcs to follow. Once a member of one of those groups vanishes, that group effectively dies.

Unlike in S1 for example, where we only had about two main groups, with the occasional split up.

Is anyone in favor of retrying this concept, preferably in a new thread?

I say concept, because I feel as the premise of surge is good, although sequel's aren't advisable for a number of reasons.

I'm in favor of trying again, preferably with a stronger storyline to follow. Honestly, the only thing most of the new characters had in common with the overall story was that we were supers, thus leading us to go off in our own directions

I could very well write the setting/story, though I refuse to GM because as most of you know I'm lazy I've got important shit to deal with, that and I become a complete monster when GMing*. >.>

Maybe it would be for the best. This story has kinda fucked itself. The pace quickened and got complicated way too fast. Didn't have enough setup. I would have preferred Pain to have taken a little while longer to "reveal" himself, and to have had Aqua's involvement from the beginning.

Yea, I guess we should retry. We need a new GM though. I'd be willing to Co-GM, or maybe full on GM if nobody else wants to.

I could help as well, but I'm currently GMing two other RPs at the moment so I'd rather not add a third to my list. But I think the BIGGEST issue to deal with it WHO should be allowed in. Many people simply disappeared over the course of this RP and I believe we should take accountability, not just skill, into account when choosing people.

Sadly, that is a problem for all RPs. Regardless how many players you let in, and who they are, you'll usually whittle them down to 3-5 regulars and some 'extras.' Our pity here is that our GM was an extra.

@Quad: I disagree. While we should take accountability into consideration, we should pay the most attention to writing ability. A handful of you know my current thoughts on the quality of some of the users of this the site, and I stand by decision to do auditions to weed out the weak and obviously incapable.

My current thoughts on the GMing situation are as followed: One person GMs and two act as Co-GMs.

Finally, I advise moving this into either the Surge usergroup or the RP Regulars, so this thread can be allowed to fade from existence.
