The song may be over, but the story never ends. ;]

With each step forward, Amy felt as though she was floating further and further away, no longer herself anymore. She was a different presence- a foreign, alien one, not a personality but just a being. It ached, causing her mortal body more pain than she could bear. Nevertheless, she continued to stagger forward, each foot the arm of a clock, ticking its way to the final hour.

The sun continued to climb in the distance, but it was little match to the golden dome and the star within it. But as she moved forward, Dark Mist finally found the strength to retaliate-

Straight into her side.

Amy screamed, though no sound came out. Unfocused by the blazing heat, Dark Mist had veered from course, resulting in a misguided hit. While one bladed arm missed completely, the other tore at her right side, tearing away flesh just above the hip. As the skin and gore disconnected with her body, it burned and vanished into nothingness leaving a horrid burning scent. But something greater occurred.

Where a reasonable chunk had been scratched away, no blood dripped. Rather, a plasma-like fluid filled the empty space, golden and painful to look at. It flowed eerily through her body, like lava, burning inside-out. Underneath the flesh, there seemed no organs, no bones... only light.

She didn't need to glance down to feel it, but she couldn't resist. Raising a glowing hand, she poked the plasma. It quivered like water, but continued to flow, running her body at a burning pace. The wound didn't hurt physically, but in her mind, Amy felt as though a piece of herself had been eroded away, revealing something much more divine, more foreign. Less real.

Augh... God... What is... I...

Amy looked forward, unaware whether she was breathing anymore or not. But she noticed she was still walking, only feet from Dark Mist. She didn't stop until he was within an arm's reach, his blackened body boiling with the stench of fear and nightmares and death.

Slowly, she raised a hand, and placed it on its forehead.

"...Good morning."

From her wound, the plasma began to seep outward, spilling and overflowing. Rather than falling to the ground, it ran over her skin, covering her completely. Some distant glance in her golden eyes read of fear, but otherwise, Amy seemed calm and no longer herself. In moments her body was a humanoid of golden burning plasma, constantly swilling, always churning. Forever burning. As the plasma spread, it finally reached her hand, connected to Dark Mist.

"...For now..."

And so, within the golden dome, the golden star exploded.

Ryan gazed after her as she turned away, stricken with grief. This couldn't be happening, this shouldn't be happening. It was supposed to be the other way around, she wasn't supposed to die for him. Anger and desperation filled him, and for a moment, he balanced on the heels of his feet, undecided, his body not willing to make the plunge. Like a small child on the edge of a diving board, he couldn't make himself go in.

But he had to.

A silent prayer was uttered, and a tiny, brief moment of reflection on his life and all the things he had done, a quiet moment to laugh at the stupidity and inevitability of what he was about to do. Then, with a bestial roar, he charged strait at the golden dome, knowing with every fiber of his being that he wouldn't break through, but still intending to do so.

The heat and light rushed to meet him, like the terrible and powerful walls of heaven itself, but at the last second, he slowed to a halt, legs still pumping against the dirt. Eyes roaming wildly around, he realized he was moving backwards. A force tugged at him, forcing him to stop his blind charge. Rage and fear expelled themselves in a string of violent curses as he writhed around, trying to get a hold on anything he could use against this new adversary. As he turned, his eyes rested on the nearby hillside, where Damien stood.

"No! You ************, let me go!" Spit flew from his mouth as he yelled. The ground and grass around him shifted and churned as goo began to form, and even as the gravity-weilder lifted him off the ground and away from the dome, Ryan sent a massive sheet of goo up into the air, bringing it down hard on the man who was trying to save his life. The beam of gravity instantly stopped, either from Damien's death or from his shear surprise at being attacked by an ally. Whichever it was, Ryan didn't really care. He was up and running as soon as he hit the ground. He made it back to the dome just in time to see Amy explode.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"Ryan screamed, the blinding light of the barely contained supernova whiting out all his features as he leaned forward into the shockwave that rippled outward from the dome. His voice was lost in the thunderous rush of noise that overwhelmed everything. Bright colors, blue, purple, green, and searing golden light, flashed and twirled inside the dome, as the light barrier itself shone like the sun. The entire countryside shook, the forests and fields were all drawn in stark white outlines. The gathering rainclouds and distant city skyline were all rendered invisible by the utterly blinding and cleansing light. The dirt beneath his feet rippled and moves outward, the grass flattened, and after several seconds of standing steadfast against the gale, Ryan himself was sent sailing backwards.

He was awoken by the gentle pat of a raindrop on his cheek. Bolting upright, he stared at the sky, where grey clouds were covering up the sun. He began to tremble, and then slowly tilted his head downwards, till a giant rising smoke entered his field of vision. "No..." His hands wouldn't move. Neither would his legs. He simply sat and stared at the gigantic, perfectly spherical crater where the giant dome had been. Smoke rose from it, and a gentle golden glow emanated from somewhere inside. "No... No!" He jumped to his feet, body screaming in pain, and ran to the edge of the crater, falling to his knees. The edge of the burnt dirt broke away under his weight, and he fell, sliding pitifully down the side and into a cloud of golden mist.

"Amy..." he glanced around wildly, getting to his feet once more and walking toward the center of the crater. "Amy..." The golden mist hung like star light in the air, and floated all around him. Raindrops from the gathering storm were slowly beating the mist back down into the ground. "Amy... no..." He neared the center, where a small, glowing spot of light was quickly receding into nothingness. "No... come back! No!" He sprinted up to it, the very light of it burning as he approached, and dove for it as it finally disappeared, grasping at the vanishing light. The soft, warm dirt was all that met him. His fists clenched, digging into the earth, as a soft golden dust settled on his back and head. The rain grew steadily, washing the mist back into the earth. Soon it became a downpour, and all semblance of light was lost. Clouds closed in overhead, the morning sun that had offered them so much hope, was gone.

Water began to puddle in the crater where Ryan sat, motionless, on his knees. Raindrops dripped from his nose and eyes, along his face and down his neck, joining the sweat and blood that pooled below him. Minutes passed, and still he sat, gazing downward at the mud.

<spoiler=OOC> SO...when's surge 2 going live?
Should only be a few more posts, really. Just time enough for all the characters to reach closure, i.e. dieing or walking off into the sunset. Keep in mind, Cathy and Terrible are still fighting.

And Xero, if you want me to edit that part we discussed into my post, I'll do so. For some reason it skipped my mind when I made the post.

...yes,yes I`m back hold your applause for later oh and nice job controlling terrible revolverwolf

terrible stood there a sick smile painted his face as the embers of the deflected fire attacked danced around him creating a almost demonic image as he clapped his hands in a slow rhythmic pattern.
"bravo even after all that you still find the will or stupidity to keep yourself alive..it`s almost amusing watching you try and fail but I guess this is your final fight because I intend to end you right here and now"

"I`l see you in hell" terrible roared as he pushed both of his hands forwards a sheet of ice, spikes protruding at random points came rolling towards Cathy at a thunderous speed before turning his hands to the sky firing lighting above her and to her sides making dodging impossible.

Hokay, so I made some edits to my above post. Xero had said something about Damien trying to pull Ryan away, and I thought that was a very good idea, but then for some reason I forgot about it and made a big long post without it, not giving him the chance to enact that particular idea. Anyway, it's fixed now, and longer. Yay! :D

I was gonna wait for Damien or Kris to do something, but I guess I'll proceed with Ryan's conclusion if we're eager to start S2. Thing is, it would be more super-special-awesome if one of them or both of them were to be around...

Damien crawled out from underneath the mound. He had protected himself by making a forcefield. "Damn, that was close." He said. He saw Ryan slumped on the grass. He floated over to him. "I'm sorry Ryan. So, so sorry." a tear ran down his face as he looked towards the sky.

Uh... this isn't gonna kill Damien, right? I want him to live for Surge 2.

Amy's blast was contained within the dome, so all you guys felt really was wind and a bit of extra heat- no harm to you, Damien.

Guess you guys just have to drag Ryan home. :] And I'll... be a ghost! BOO!

Don't worry, we'll make it so he escapes. Kris could probably help in that regard.

EDIT: Wait, were you talking about the blast or Ryan? Oh well, it still applies. We'll let him escape.
Ryan sat perfectly still as Damien approached, the rain soaking him and running down his neck, pooling on the ground beneath him and adding to the already growing puddle of mud that he sat in. His wet hair hang down over his face, concealing a pair of blood-shot, crazed eyes from the man.

"I'm sorry Ryan. So, so sorry."

Ryan flinched, both hands clenching and digging into the mud. His jaw clamped together, a barely audible sob escaping between his lips. He couldn't get the image of that Thing out of his head. That... demon. Ray. It wasn't Ray though, or at least not anymore. Ray's presence was completely gone now, gone without a trace. The darkness of the Demon seemed to remain though, manifested in the stormy clouds and the steady blanket of rain that smothered out everything. And in his own dark, dark feelings.

A clap of thunder and an incredibly close slap of lightning reminded him that he was still alive. With a groan, Ryan tilted his head upward into the falling rain, his face still facing away from Damien. "Daaamien..." he crooned, as if enticing the man, then lowered his head back down and sobbed again.

"She's gone... she's gooone away..." this time it almost sounded like a song, as if he were deliberately trying to put a tune to it. "Dead and gone... blown up... gone...." he sobbed again, but this time it almost sounded like a laugh. "Gone, gone, gone... dead and gone! She left me, Damien, she left me! She died and now she's gone!" His fists dug into the ground again, this time a slight tremor was felt beneath them. After half a minute of nothing, he spoke again.

"And it hurts."

He trembled for a few seconds, his entire body shaking. His voice was no longer light or humorous. "It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It HURTS!!!" He raised his head and screamed at the sky, then slowly lowered his head back down again. "It hurts." This time he spoke in a whisper, just loud enough for Damien to hear. "The pain... the pain is so... so deep. So... nasty. So bad. I wish it would go away, but it won't, because it likes me, and follows me wherever I want to go. Like a little cat. Like a little fucking cat." His right hand rose up from the ground, clenching a ball of mud, and a murky line of goo followed it. Slowly, his fist ground the mud until it fell apart.

"Do you have pain, Damien?" Ryan suddenly asked, his head jerking up, and his entire body going rigid. His voice was suddenly different, more aware, but also more venomous, and filled with malicious intent. "DO YOU HAVE PAIN?!?!" he yelled, and the ground flexed beneath them. After waiting for a few seconds with no response, he continued.

"No, no you don't. You have no pain. Not like me, oh no, not like me. My pain, my pain is the best, better than yours, or anyone else's'. My pain is the best." He chuckled, then stood up, the rain pattering against his muddied and bloody back. "Do you want pain, Damien?" Ryan said slowly, as he turned to face the man, his now crazed and feral eyes meeting Damien's. Pitch black tears were running down his face, leaving dark smudges, and thick, black goo was oozing from in between his teeth as he grinned maniacly.

Damn, do we have another upcoming villain in our mist?

Great post on Yorg's part. Though I did lol at the "My pain is the best", kinda feel bad about it.

[sup]I'm tempted to actually make a good guy now, if Yorg is going to be insane I think I should at least have a moral code. Either that or bring back Ray in someway, like as a Deadman or something.[/sup]

Ty :)

Yes, we do have another villain, but he won't be full villain. A kind of alter-ego, switch back and forth, battling his inner demons kind of deal is gonna be going on. You'll see.

I sorta had that idea when thinking of the 'Deadman' version of Ray, but I guess the 'Deadman' would have more control. This would sort of allow me to dive into the perspective of a broken man, along with giving Ryan someone to hate. :D

But yet again...I play crazy to well for my own liking.....So I'm stuck in an awkward position >_<
