Kris could barely block the blows as they came. The blows landed and he heard a painful crack as what felt like a rib broke from the strength of one of the blows. Kris clenched his teeth in pain and tried to retaliate, but the punches were coming too fast and too violently.

It barely needed any cohesive thought, Kris had the sword disappear, engulfed in blue flames. The same blue flames appeared around one of his defensively placed hands and the saber flashed into existence, where he was able to fend off Shadow Man's fists and step back, one arm clenching his side.
