Surprise Franchise Edition

Ever been surprised, for better or worse, by a new edition to a franchise?

I'm still pissed that SE saw fit to throw in a shooter to the Final Fantasy franchise.

I liked the RTS though...since I could actually play it.

I was pleasantly surprised that Arkaine Studios was able to turn the traditionally Turn-based Strategy Might and Magic franchise into a decent, entertaining first person hack-and-slash. With good magic spells.
