Survey: Nature vs Nurture

Okay so my female friend is doing her Abnormal Psych class this semester and she has to do a thesis paper. She also has to back this Thesis up with research through surveys. Since she doesn't have a huge group of friends to pull from, she asked me to help her get 100 random people to take her survey. I am, in turn, asking for help from the escapist community on this. If you have 2-5 free minutes and have ever been in a relationship (or currently are in a relationship) you qualify for this survey.

The point of her Thesis is that Depression tends to be caused by environmental factors. In this 10 question survey she is exploring relationships as a source of stress, as well as how you deal with this stress. If you have a few free minutes, please help us out.

For discussion value, what is the worst relationship you have ever been in and how did you deal with it.

P.S. This is completely anonymous so you don't have to worry about filling out any personal info other than age and sex.

Ooo, I'd like to participate in this one. For discussion value, the worst relationship I've ever had was with my father, I dealt with it by deciding to never speak with him again. If we're talking about romantic relationships, I can't say that any of them have been horrible. There was one girl I dated for a time that stressed me out, I remedied this by breaking up with her.

You use 'adieu' instead of 'ado'.

"without further ado" = meaning: without any more fuss or hubbub, cutting to the chase in 3, 2, 1... NOW!

"without further adieu" = meaning: without bidding thee farewell excessively. You just said hi and introduced your quest to me. Why would you say goodbye already? And how can you stretch one adieu to the breaking point? Would it not make sense to at least use the plural of 'adieu', and write something like 'without further adieus'? If you don't respect language, you don't respect culture; if you don't respect culture you don't respect people. I cannot possibly interact with you.

Worst relationship I had was with my step-mother's son. Who constantly wanted to see me every Wednesday, claimed it was ok if I didn't want to hang out.....but then berated me for not giving "acceptable reasons." Chastised my love of stories. And Thought it was unacceptable that I kept reflexively calling him a different name even though I only had one other major friend.

Also first experience I ever had with someone saying they "loved me." Of course after I finally cut off my relationship he got a girlfriend which shows that he was just insecure as fuck.

If it makes you feel any better at all, she modeled a number of the questions after my history. If you don't feel like doing it though, no worries m8. I still appreciate the response.

I started to do the survey as well but all the wording seems to reference current relationships as opposed to the many nightmare ones i've had. Not sure i have a disorder, but i defintly had moments of great anxiety/nervous breakdowns and gave up on my own self worth a couple times. Even started losing lots of my hair over stress at one point. But in every case, i was rational. I had damn good reasons for my behaviour. It would probably be more disturbing if i didn't react as i did. Not sure if i qualify for this.
