I was looking into ZombiU sales due to another thread on this board.

It appears that ZombiU is fairly successful for a survivor/horror game in terms of Sales
I've double checked and Alien:Isolation and Evil Within even though fairly early in their lifetimes don't have that much "more" sales than ZombiU. Back when it was released ZombiU was critically panned for not being more shooter orientated, yet it appears to be the best selling 3rd party game on the WiiU. I mainly bought it due to decent word of mouth, and it's pretty intense.
I believe there might have been a bundle for it, when it was released - also I think possibly some of those sales were at a lower price due to how Ubisoft usually handles pricing for their games.

Now there are rumors for ZombiU 2 in the French Amazon. Yet according to Ubisoft an year ago the sequel was panned because ZombiU didn't make a profit. I fail to see what type of sales they were expecting for this genre on an ecosystem like the Wii U. I think if the figure of 700k is anything close to the actual sales - it's actually a very successful survivor horror game, and I would like to get a sequel to it because of the mechanics they were able to implement.
I just don't understand how it wasn't profitable myself because it's doesn't seem like a game that would cost a lot of money to make.

What type of sales figures are actually considered good for this genre?

A quick scope of GLOBAL SALES on a few "survival horror" console games (as ample as the definition gets), excluding indie titles like Amnesia and Slender:

Resident Evil 5: 8.5 million

Resident Evil 6: 4.8 million

Dead Island: 4.5 million

Dead Space 2: 3.10 million

Dead Space 3: 2.0 millon

Dead Rising 2: 2.8 million

Dead Rising 3: 1.17 million

The Evil Within: 1.8 million

ZombiU... 700k
