This is why I hate organizations "that care," they always are hypocritical, run by morons, and cause more harm then good.

Peta, why go after Cabela's 3000 hunting games when we can go after the animal harming evil that is COOKING MAMA!

Uhhhh...

Well, that explains the rise in pre-schooler satanic cults recently. Thanks pretty neat.

This people are utterly hopeless. What I want to know is when can I have my cable television be uncensored? Sure, fine, give the option for this standard, censored television, but what about the rest of us? As it stand, I hate watching television just to have my ears bleed from obnoxious *bleeps* blaring through the speakers because someone said, dare I say it? "Shit." I 100% understand the desire to keep that sort of language away from young children, but I am not a young child, so those like the PTC can shove their sententious folderol down their whining throats or start footing my bill to cover the compromised service. Try watching a show like South Park on TV, then on the internet where it is uncensored; it is very hard to go back to the ear-bleeder-bleepers.

Guys. Stop talking about the PTC. We're rapidly turning into those twats who obsess over every little thing something does so we can hate on it.

And 23% of that is from Sopranos alone.

Bear in mind. This is part 1 of 3 and each are 10 minutes long.
I've never watched "The Sopranos", but I think I can give a basic plot analysis of it based off of this video.

Too much language, producers.

"It's also interesting to note that the PTC does not seem to regard slurs based upon race, sexuality, etc., as profane"

Yeah, so much for giving a damn about children. These people need to just give up and return to monitoring their own children. This "study" only consist of five networks and doesn't represent an entire network. Really this study is just pointless. I'm for making sure children grow up to be as civil and proper as can be (yeah right...like that would happen) but, that's something that's mainly up the parents. Really, just let the parents be parents and let them monitor there own children (provided the parents give a damn to monitor them).

Not that it matters much. If the kids don't pick the "curse" words up from television, they'll pick them up from their peers or some random people off the street.

On a unrelated note: I'll admit...I chuckled when I read 69 bit in the article's title.

As I've always said, just words. If someone says, "Well have a fucking pleasant day" in a nice tone then it's just stronger than "Have a pleasant day"

Tell you what I found odd, on Black Ops, the subtitles have the swear words censored, but the speech still swears.

Did anyone even look at the list of swear words?
"Crap," "damn," "bastard," "suck," "screw," "hell." ...
Those are Sunday School Swears.

How old are these people? And where is this cloistered convent they live in?
That makes it less awesome in my mind.

I find it fascinating how few of the English swear words are actually linked to religion. What the hell is no longer as much used as what the fuck. In Norway, I think the five most common swear words are based on Christian religion (though I don't know the statistics).

In case there are any other Norwegians on this thread, I am refering to those words:

Faen (som betyr fanden, altså djevelen)
Helvete
Jævla
Satan
Herregud

And then they blame Video Games, seriously get your act together before blaming ANOTHER industry while you can't even control your own.
It's a conspiracy to point fingers in other places before they take the blame.

Stephen Fry makes some good points on this, firstly that while we use the most terrible words like kill, torture, agony, etc, quite casually, even to refer to queueing or traffic, yet to use simple slang that means you shared the act of lovemaking with someone special, you're the most offensive person on the earth.

Also that it's not 'necessary', ovens aren't necessary, you could live in a tree on raw food, but ovens and houses sure make life more enjoyable.

Then that swearing is a sign of a low vocabulary, an accusation coming from someone who wants to limit everybody's vocabulary.

Honestly, what a bunch of C- oh yeah, I can't say that :)
