Swearing on XBL

The Jerks on PSN (without mics) will go out of their way to show they are jerks by sending you message after message of meaningless shit, but even then it's rare. The jerks with mics are still few and far between. As for the theory there is less asswipes on PSN than XBL, its not entirely true, its less obvious what kind of people you're playing with until they make it blatantly obvious.

Sometimes I think it's better than PSN didn't come with mics.

I remember letting one of my 12 year old cousin's friends play UT3 on my PC, on a server with skilled players and Instagib/Speed Freak activated. He owns an Xbox and is a frequent XBL player.

He was getting killed once every 7 seconds (Quite literally) and thank god the server had disabled mics, because needless to say, every time he was killed he would yell "Shit!", "Fag!", "FUCK YOU!" or a creative combination of the three, thinking the mic was on.

I would honestly pay twice as much for my account if they provided an 18-and-over only server where you had to produce proof of your age before you could log into it. I'm so tired of these little 13 year olds telling me to go fuck a couch. It's driving my back to PC gaming.

I've been pretty lucky. I've had one person go after my gamertag, which is the same time as my forum name. Turning the mike off usually is fine for me when someone decides to rave. More mainstream games like Halos, both Gears, and COD 4, have most of the preteens/teens/jerks. I've had great curse free times in L4D (except for the one guy who played mini Napoleon),TF2, and sometimes COD4.

Though I guess there was one odd game where it got strange. It was Gears 2 Horde match. One of the players was a girl, who was actually older than everyone in the game, and there were two teens (younger than me by about two to four years) who just started talking about the fact she was a girl and there respective ages. Thankfully they were diverted around Wave 4 and the matter was dropped.

Oh and to fire up the discussion I also wanted to mention that on PSN this kind of stuf rarely happens Wich is kinda weird because PSN is free, so you would think there are alot more nutjobs there.

Sadly there are idiots like that on PSN. However if you've noticed PSN has a shortage of those kinds of people. Lets hope it stays that way.

If I get killed or beaten on a game I usually praise or congratulate. This is how people should be, except if you're playing against cheats. Seriously, why do you think you're better if you're cheating. MODS don't make you good at a game.

Gloating should only be used when it's a particularly good win and preferably with friends.

I'm on PSN and have heard some, but not much, abuse. Generally what i've heard is racial which is so sad. If you're on of these idiots - Grow up.

I'm just not big into the whole multiplayer experience. More often than not I'd rather just play with bots. Assuming the A.I. isn't complete shit you can get an experience that is at least comparable to "Live" multiplayer, just minus the lag, swearing, and general unlikeable fuckbags. If only the guys at Bungie had worked on bot functionality instead of just constantly releasing new map packs of questionable quality for the Halo series.
