1) Why is the state funding this. If i was a sweedish resident i would be pissed. I would want the money to go for something useful like roads or schools or health care. feminist porn... i think not, if they want to make it then they should have to pay for it.

2) Isnt that point of porn to derive sexual pleasure from it? not to express core philosophical values from it. I dont know about you but i would appreciate a porn of my favorite belief system. an objectivist porn would irritate the hell out of me.

I think Sweden funds its artists to a far greater degree than most English speaking nations for a couple of reasons:

1) It's a relatively socialist state in comparison and
2) they want to keep the art & entertainment industry going, as it would suffer heavily in variety if they didn't. Sweden itself isn't a massive country in terms of population and anything produced in Swedish has a limited few countries it can be exported to.

I think it's a good idea in theory. However, having not seen this, it sounds like a case of one of those self-involved artist types not really understanding art at all and rather thinking that it's subversive and truly great if it's contrarian and nobody wants to see it.
