First off, I know a thread was made about a month ago about Swine Flu. But that was the most recent, and things have changed.

Now, on topic.
We all know that the world is making a big deal about this Swine Flu bullshit. But I tend to realize, that it's spreading quite fast. The area where I live has quite a big amount of cases. My school has around 10+ cases(so I've heard). I, personally, don't know anyone who has it at the moment, but I'm sure one of my friends will get it. And then there's this vaccination that is being distributed in max production, and was made very fast. So I'm probably not gonna get since I don't trust it.

Now onto the discussion.
Has H1N1 made it to the city/town where you live?
If so, how many cases and do you know anybody with it?
The vaccination, what's your thoughts on it? Are you gonna get a Swine Flu shot?
And most of all, do even care about the Swine Flu? Are you even worried? What's your opinion on it?

I'd like to see Swine Flu take on my immune system.

Stupid disease wouldn't know what hit it.

I had it... But I drowned my system in Vitamin C and got over it about ten days later. Unfortunately, for the latter five of those days I was at school. Bloody mom wouldn't let me stay home longer.

Yes the swine flu has reached my town. There were about two cases at the begininning of September, but I am sure that both of them are fine now.

The Vaccination will proably be a good thing when it comes to keeping the Panic down and No I will not get one as I see no reason to at the moment.

No I honestly don't care about it and I think that some people may be overreacting to it.

Yes, it is where I live, about 60 cases or so.

I don't know anyone that has it.

I think anyone who need the vaccine is a pussy, but yes I will get it because my job requires me to.

NO, I do not care about it and I am not worried. Who the fuck is? Yeah, it's a sickness that is spreading at an alarming rate... so what? I'd like to get it right now, kick the shit out of it, and laugh at everyone who whines about it. Anyone would a halfway decent immune system is going to be fine. All of the others though, who have weakened yourself with the constant use of hand sanitizer should be worried.

Yup, a guy on my basketball team had it and had to be in hospital with IV fluids. But do I care if I contracted swine flu? Not in the slightest. The med school required me to be vaccinated anyway so I can't, but even if I could this is a very mild strain of the flu and it doesn't concern me in the slightest.

Hemagluttinin 1, neuraminidase 1.

The local middle school had around 49% of it's student body gone due to H1N1 and other illnesses. Our rival high school isn't doing much better. My sister got it off of a Walmart shopping cart (which is funny because she rarely leaves the house. The ONE TIME she does, she gets swine flu). One of the DJs on my school's radio station (we actually share a microphone) got it and has been out for a week.

I'm not worried.

It's such a big issue here, everybody knows the symptoms. If I or another one of my family members were to contract it, we'd easily know. I also take extra precautions by washing my hands at school and at home.

I probably won't get the vaccination until it has a higher mortality rate, or if I'm required to because I'm a student.

H1N1 is flu. Just regular flu. My room-mate had it last year, it didn't even stop him going to work/uni.

I'm living in Hong Kong at the moment and people are even more obsessed with it here than they were in the UK. Pisses me off.

The Swine Flu made its way into my school thanks to the help of an extremely stupid person who didn't think that being in a very cramped classroom with many people and an easily spread virus would be a bad thing.

Thanks to him my district now does weekly checks.

I just got an email a few days ago from my school confirming one case of it, I'm not sure if there are more yet...my feeling of it was akin to receiving word that an underage kid was caught drinking on campus, utter apathy and lack of surprised.

I thought I had it a few weeks ago, I felt a flu coming on but somehow managed to avoid it, I had all the symptoms for about 2 days then it went away.

Also, my school just started offering vaccinations very recently, but I don't feel like getting a shot, since this is no Captain Trips from what I've heard about it.

And lastly, if you couldn't tell, I don't really care about swine flu, if I get it, which is very possible considering my living conditions. I believe that I'll be fine, I've had the flu before, really bad one year, so I can't see all the hubbub about this whole thing.

No idea, don't really care either.

A canadian acquaintance of mine pointed out that the regular flu kills more people each year than the swine flu has.

Plus, more people died from the vaccine back in the 70s than the flu.

Swine Flu is all over in area I live in. In fact I have it right now, just getting over it actually. And as for my opinion of it? I could not care less so long as it doesn't come my way again.

A few cases over here. Thought I had it but it turned out I didn't. Can't really blame me for mistaking it though, I had all the symptoms except for vomiting and diarrhea.

I think so. I haven't been paying attention, but my mother has gotten oddly paranoid. That might just be about regular flu, though (not that there's much difference, all told).

Yeah it's reached where I live. A friend of mine had it a while back, and like most have said, she didn't feel any worse than having normal flu.

And I'll probably get the vaccine for it, as diabetics can be more vulnerable to it. Or so I heard.

The reason why everyone is crazy about it; is because it spreds fast and CAN turn into a much more deadly virus. You know the kind of thing that kills 9 out 10 people :p

We have lots of cases of swine flu where I live. That's why I don't take the bus anymore.

There is only 2 cases in my country. (so i heard) I should not be worried, but people from Mexico or USA are in danger. It could spread very fast and become lethal to people.
