Since Direct2Drive was sold I decided to try Amazon for the first time so I bought and downloaded Syndicate.
The game doesn't get released until Tuesday but you can download it starting yesterday and I assumed install it but not play it. With other games that I have done this with, from other services, I've been able to install but not activate pre-release. With this game though Origin accepted the activation before it installed and the client says it's ready to download but I already have it downloaded from Amazon. When I try to install it Origin gives me an error message: Error 100.
Anyone else trying this setup? Is this an error because it's not the release date or an error with the Origin/Amazon combo? I'd just like to avoid any potential hassles on the actual release day.
I've asked on the EA/Origin forums as well of course but I don't have alot of faith that I'll actually hear something from there....
I haven't used Origin before so I don't know if this is just part of it. If it is seems like a more descriptive error message like, "You can't install this until release day." would save some hassle.
Thanks.
