Like it or not companies like Sony, Microsoft, and others have incredibly powerful security systems which is why this kind of thing doesn't happen every day, and when it does it gets attention. Indeed these companies also contract their know how for designing software and systems for governments and major businesses all around the world.
Except this is just Twitter!
Anyone can "hack" twitter, it happens multiple times everyday.

Heck if they took down and vandalized Microsoft's website that might be more impressive, but not by very much.
If they leaked Windows 9 code or implanted something into it then I'd really be scared, but they didn't they just vandalized twitter.
Thats right, this isn't hacking it simple vandalism.

I want the job title, "Creative Director, Storytelling" in a company.

That seems akin to putting "Head Bullshitter" as a sign off.

If they didn't have a stranglehold on what sort of OS I choose to put on my system (IE: "Windows, or fuck you"), then perhaps I'd care more.
lolwut? There's OS X from Apple and literally HUNDREDS of Linux distros. Both of which are at least competent as competitors to Windows. So yeah, Microsoft doesn't have a "stranglehold" on anything. It is, of course, true that they hold a sizable chunk of the OS market but that doesn't take away any of the options that you have in terms of OS'.
Not competent gaming OSes though.

Direct X is the reason windows is so dominant in gaming. If OpenGL isn't widely supported soon, you are at the mercy of Microsoft.

Mac and Linux doesn't have the gaming support, otherwise everyone would have jumped ship long ago.
This, anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. Linux is getting better for gaming support as is openGL and likely will continue to do so quite quickly now Steam are behind it. However at the moment they are not even in the same league as Direct X.

When I read it and got to the part where they published an internal email I really hoped it was something along the lines of panic for the xbone failing or something, either way it's Microsoft I don't really care but it's nice to see someone's fucking with them for me.

Ok... This is just getting fucking absurd the hate towards Microsoft.

You people realize more criminals like these get attentions more they will do it and if they really are from Syria they can go and run rampart because no police force is there to sort it out.
What if they go and crash the XBOX or PSO or whatever the hell network you game on. You would be crying for blood and revenge at that point?

Guys this is fucking stupid! The fact company has made bad decision doesn't mean the people working in it - who are just normal average people I mind you - should get punished for that.
Because this wont hurt the real evil, the people who get the money up high in the chain of command. This they will not even notice... And they are the one who sail the company towards hopefully more money for themselves. Steer its ever decison with reins made of gold.

People who are saying these guys are doing good make me sick.
