System Shock 2 on 32 bit vista

I just bought a copy of System Shock 2 but as soon as I start the campaign it freezes.
Ive never had a problem like this on any other games, does anyone know how to fix it?
Also, just to give you guys a bit of thought
What are your opinions on System Shock 2 and its Grandgrandson Bioshock

I've been looking for a solution for XP for awhile.

Failing mostly, got it to run on older hardware with XP, which makes me think it's my duel processor.

(Even if changing it to run with only 1 didn't work well, closer, but no cigeryer.)
