Is it me or are T.V. shows ending or being cancelled because of the global recession?

Here's a list of shows that were cancelled in 2008/2009! (There's lot more than in the list!)

According to Jim
Battlestar Galactica
Cupid
Deal or No Deal
Dirty Sexy Money
Eli Stone
The Emperor's New School
ER
Everybody Hates Chris
Harper's Island
King of the Hill
Knight Rider
Kyle XY
The L Word
Life
Life on Mars
Lipstick Jungle
My Own Worst Enemy
Prison Break
Privileged
Pushing Daisies
Reaper
Samantha Who?
The Shield
Stargate Atlantis
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
Swingtown
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Without a Trace
Worst Week

Obviously not all shows ended or were cancelled because of the recession but you have to say that alot of shows have endended over the last two years!

So what do you think?
Also tell me what show you will miss the most?

Life on Mars ended naturally, Deal or No Deal is still alive [small](unfortunatly)[/small] and I think Reaper is still going. Well, in England at least.

EDIT: Also going well in England is Samantha Who? and The Shield.

I'd say a third ABC, third FOX and third NBC and then a small percentage of smaller channels. I realise that doesn't add up. Not bothered to change it!

Um did you ever consider that some of those shows might have just been terrible and had low ratings? Just an idea.
This.
And then some of them just completed the run. I'd say the recession might have an effect, but it's not as dramatic as OP suggests.

Some of those were pretty bad, though I see what you mean.

As long as the good shows keep getting watch, and more people are staying home longer to watch them, they'll stay on longer.
