Tactical Upcoming shooters

I have just finished MoH on 360, OP flashpoint Dragon Rising and BCBF2... I am looking forward to some more objective based tactical shooters rather than run and gun twitchy epileptic shooters, no offence CoD fans.

I have heard of Brink and Homefront and they both look quite unique, does anyone have anymore suggestions based around that style of FPS?

Bullet Drop, flanking (I actually had to do this a lot in OP flashpoint), Suppressing fire, Stealth Ops, etc...

And I REALLY recommened trying the original Operation Flashpoint. Now there's a tactical shooter.

Pretty old but Hidden and Dangerous 2 (and 1, for that matter). Not 'upcoming' but good for tactics.

And I REALLY recommened trying the original Operation Flashpoint. Now there's a tactical shooter.

Pretty much this, but if you're going to dabble with the ArmA's, make sure you get the ACE mod for them. Oh, and don't bother with the campaign, it's mostly shite compared to what people have come up with. Check out ShackTactical for ArmA II tactical gameplay too. But I digress...

The original Operation Flashpoint was a right ***** to play, fun, but a right *****.

You could also try out Battlefield 2 for the PC. It's not as demanding as other games and has an enormous community.

This, but save it for last, because it's the be-all-end-all of tactical shooters. I can't even look at another tactical shooter without sizing it up against OP Flash.

Though graphics hounds need not apply. Thought I'd better say that up front so you don't go in expecting it to look like ArmA II or Dragon Rising. Still, you're in it for the gameplay, not the graphics, right?

SWAT 4 is a damn good game! Very fun, and one of few police FPSs.

Also I do play Dragon Rising occasionally.

Also you could probably try some of the Brothers in Arms games, I played Hell's Highway and it was pretty excellent.

OP flashpoint Dragon Rising

I've been after a realsitic tactical shooter for aaages, when i got this, i wasn't dissapointed.
Only gripe? Some of the missions told you to be stealthy, but made you sprint about 40 clicks in ten minutes, kinda runied it for me a tad.

Red Orchestra 2 is coming out soon...it offers (Or should) hyper-realistic gameplay (Infantry) and tank warfare.

Awesome replies, nice forums they have here, thanks for the warm sticky welcome. I'm a long time fan of Yahtzee and always read the titles of topics posted in the forums and sometimes wonder how so many replies are possible for some of the topics... I see why now.

I have a PC but I prefer 360 shooter games for the comfort and security of my Bed and TV. I have heard good things about ARMA 2 and Op Flash original. And I am a big fan of all BF series, BF1942, DC, BFBC2, BF2, BFV (I loved raping in the hueys and cobras whilst blasting song o- can anyone remember what song that is? ;-)
There is a good BF2 mod called Project Reality that has a fairly nice following, heck there are still live servers for Desert Combat running!


Theres a new Ghost Recon coming out so I think I will begin my GR career with that one, I also recently saw Brink, which looks like a mix between MoH, Borderlands, Mirror's Edge and Fallout which I quite like the idea of. Here's hoping it doesn't go the way of APB... I was really hoping that game wouldn't drop out like it did.

I would play SWAT 4 but tried it on my PC and it doesn't support windows 7 running 64 bit...

and Yeah, I don't care so much for Graphics, MoH was the best mainstream FPS I've played in a long long long time for it's realistic storyline (maybe because its based on real events-unlike CoD always obsessed with Nazis or Russians---ughhh) but MoH had not nearly enough polish for a game of it's stature but IT DIDNT MATTER cause it's playability was so high, I played on normal then finished it. Played on Hard, finished it. Playing still on Tier 1 and Multiplayer is still rocking!
