so after playing DOW2 online as both the tyranids as the alpha lictor and as the space marines as the tech marine i just carnt seem to find anyway to shift the order of battle as its 3v3 i always end up supporting my allies and we never seem to get a chance to win. So i was wondering what tactics people use for the tyrainids i ussually just churn out hormagaunts and melee warriors to cover my ranged allies and as the space marines i use tac marines with maybe 2 squads of shotgun scouts to cover the tacs from CC units but as ive said im ussually just overwhelmed.

Well, you have to first understand that Dawn of War games are nothing like the tabletop, which are the tactics I see you using right up there.

Just because Nids look like Zerg, and Zerg were based off Nids, doesn't mean that Zerg rush is the way to go. Instead, rushing for the Carnifex is the way to go. Gaunts get you near to nowhere, since health bars are considered, instead of rolling dice for a save.

For Space Marines, specifically, the Techmarine, your role is ONLY support. If you're losing, there is only two things going wrong. Either you're not playing him right, or your teammates aren't using your strengths to their advantages.

Keep their vehicles alive, make gunlines and defensive positions, but most of all, get the heavy armor. A tank healing actual tanks will never end the cries of woe from your enemies.

ah thanks ive been using the tachmarine and just fortifying 1 Vic point which has left my allies to capture and defend the other one this works especcially well after ive placed mines on all the cover that the enamy can use and get to tech 2 so i can put missle launchers on my tachs
