So, after going through the first chapter of Red Dead Redemption I've decided to take a step back and invest in a Gamecube before they fall completely into obscurity. I chose Gamecube because I'm already pretty much tapped the Xbox out and, PS2 is too easy. So, my question to The Escapist: What games would you recommend and what games should I avoid at all costs? Assuming I can find these, this is what I am hoping to get [assuming I can find them of course]

Super Smash Brothers Melee
Pokemon XD
Eternal Darkness
Killer 7
Resident Evil's 1-4
Metal Gear Twin Snakes
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

It's pretty sweet not having a girlfriend to spend money on! Anyway, I think I'll look for the paper mario series or, any mario RPGs in general. What GC games did/do you guys play? Which ones did you hate? Since we're on the subject of older-though-still-obtainable Nintendo stuff, what about GBA games that are I may have missed?

Luigi's Mansion and Kirby Air Ride have been a bunch of fun (Kirby only with friends, cus you get to bash the crap out of each other on adorable stars!)

Erm yes those, I loved Killer 7 though it's a bit of an odd game. Eternal Darkness is very old looking but it's very imaginative and atmospheric, certainly one of the better true horror style games.

Viewtiful Joe, Metroid Prime 1 and 2.

Pikmin possibly.

Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos - both RPGs

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is very fun, and surprisingly quotable ("Let's just beat this freak of the week, okay?")

If you're gonna get Twilight Princess, you should also get The Wind Waker. It could do with some more dungeoneering, but it's jolly good fun nonetheless, and it has the coolest final showdown in Zelda history.

Don't forget the Metroid Prime games. They can be a bit demanding (lots of boring scanning, save points far apart), but perseverance pays off.

I also really liked that Fire Emblem game, Path Of Radiance, but I've never played another one in the series, so I can't tell how it compares.

I said 'Killer 7' thinking XIII!

Killer 7 does look great and I plan on getting it if I can find it but XIII looked like one of the coolest games I couldn't have picked up due to monetary constraints at the time >.<

Pokemon Colosseum looks cool and I am mildly curious about Pokemon Channel

Viewtiful Joe: I remember playing a demo of that and it was pretty cool ^^

I completely forgot about Metroid! I was a very deprived Nintendo Larva...sure, I had Mario and Zelda but, I missed out on Kirby and, Samus.

edit: Anybody play Star Wars Bounty Hunter?

As an above poster mentioned, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is the definitive FE game in North America in my opinion, if you like SRPG's and that series in particular.

The prince of Persia game that is on the Gamecube[footnote]Must be getting late, I know this![/footnote]
Army Men Sarges War
007 Agent Under Fire and Nightfire

You should be amused for hours. Get the Metriod Prime series as well, like Skoldpadda suggested.
