Hey you gaming wonders.

I'm playing Rome: Total War (late to the party indeed) and have conquered everywhere but the Brutii, the Scipii, and Rome. I made a save and took Rome in a turn but then everyone and their mothers attacked me.

I'm currently trying to diplomatically take the lower map Scipii places by asking for the region in exchange for a wad of cash. Hell, i offered 1000000 for 1 city but they still blew me off.

If i attack the whole world disolves and everyone attacks. How can i take over like the sly dog i am?

Just make more soldiers and attack Rome, I suggest having a full army in each settlement to ward off the inevitable attacks, that or just buy Rome with your "Wads of cash" and everybody is happy.

Massive attack on many fronts, then defend till they exhaust their armies, then rinse and repeat.

Hopefully you have military access with the other families. Then what you do is muster your forces out side all the major cities. Then in one fell swoop you've pretty much kicked them in the economic balls. If you don't have military access then get your forces as close as you can to the cities (either land or water). Then you take there cities... blah blah blah..... kick to the economic balls.

You're going to have to use your military wits to win in a war. Political and economic might has taken you as far as it can.

Besides, this is the best part of the game. Why not go enjoy it the old fashioned way? :D

Take over everywhere else, then go for Rome. Then no one else can attack you.
Or accept you'll have to lose some territory and just go for it.

the total war center would be better to go to, bud.
You've triggered the civil war. All families will gang up on you, the player.

It's the only part of the game that's any difficulty.

Good luck.

Take greece. It's the richest part of the map and easily defended. If you haven't already done so at least.

OIh and with spies and onagers you can take all of italy easily. No garrison except rome. Bribe away Rome's armies.

Then you're golden.

Or you can do the honset way and fight them all. haha.

i prepare 60 turns b4 i actually attack rome its all about preperation

you also want to conquer rome in 1 turn before the exile you so bring seige weps

or they will swarm you

next try to create your army far away from italy or they other families will also recruit unit in the area giving you a hard time to take and hold rome

What darkan said. I plot and plan for ages, and by the time I trigger the civil war I have a couple of armies tailor-made and in position to take Rome by force.

Other than that... well, just besiege it and keep going at it.

Don't ever bother with diplomacy in a Total War game. It is broken. The best you can use it for is to make as many trade agreements as possible and see which sucker nations you can sell map information to for easy cash for a while.

Otherwise, Total War is pretty much all about brute force.
