Taps fake?

I'm sitting here quite bored out of my head, waiting for my friend to get home so I can go look at computer parts (Joy) and Taps is running in the background. Now the last time I saw this show was years ago, we don't get it in Aus, and back then I loved the show. The vast majority of cases where duds as what little they found where either explained away or left as 'too little evidence to say.' I think of all the times I watched it they only had one, ONE, single case where they where left puzzled to the point they would label something a 'haunting.' Even as someone with beliefs I loved this, it was the approach you need to take with the paranormal and marked them different from the usual ghost hunters that are out there to make a buck off peoples belief... a serious problem if you ask me.

Now though... it is constant 'we found something!' and I can't help but wonder: What the hell is going on?

Did then channel managers take then aside and told them if they didn't get higher ratings they where going to be droped?
Where they ordered to do what the other 'ghost hunting' groups where doing... aka taking EVERYTHING as proof of paranormal?
Out right fake the results?

Cause some of the stuff that I have seen on one episode alone would be enough to convince the scientific community of ghosts! The one on right now, slater mill, has a huge amount of talking with dead in it. Not just some cryptic crackling that might, if you twist it right, be words but clear answers to the questions being asked through a EM detector. It is too... well... perfect not to be faked!

The show used to be interesting, not good but interesting enough to leave as background noise or when bored, but now it feels as if it is insulting my intelligence. I don't have enough to begin with with what little I do have being insulted!

So what do the people here think on taps... I won't even touch what people think on the other groups out there, they don't even rate a mention aside to ridicule!

What is Taps? Is it a rip off of that crappy ghost hunter series?

I hate all those series. They are stupid. Everyone knows there are no ghosts.

I think a good think a good 98% of the time they are genuine. There are some times when they point something out and I think it's fake and I believe in ghosts (I've had way too many personal experiences with them to deny it). I try to give them benefit of the doubt as they are really good about what they consider evidence (other shows use every little dust spec as an orb it's very annoying). The faking probably has to do with being on TV and needing to fulfill viewers' need for creepy.

They actually did a few episodes in my area and I've been to the places that they have filmed (Not at night of course, but the time shouldn't determine when a ghost would want to haunt) and I've never seen the kind of stuff they talk about.

The show could be easy to fake and it proably is, but it's one of the better versions of ghost hunting on TV in my opinon.

i see what you mean some of thier results they say are real acually have no proof what so ever and are totally dismisable but also you can also find some stuff without explanation too

I have seen enough of there evidence to show that some of them are paranormal. I do enjoy it when they fail though, and although some will obviously be passed off as genuine fakes, or passed of as sensible scientific explanations, some will be genuine.
