I do not and cannot for medical reasons. If I could then I've had a few ideas, generally odd but fun little references to things I love.
Good Dr King quote, like it. My sleeve is getting some T S Eliot winding through it. Love the Super(girl) symbol, and the footprints too.2012 Wont Happen said:Nice. I'm planning on getting sXe quite large on my back when I turn 18.Reynard Wrecce said:Got a 'Straight Edge' and a crucifix on my chest
Basically in whatever space is left after I get "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope." on my upper back. I figure that of all the places on my body to cover with ink, I might as well fill up my back. Its pretty plain and easy to cover if I needed to.

Other than the tattoos I already listed I'll be getting a red star somewhere. If there was no consideration of covering it when I needed to it would be on the inside of my left wrist, and I might still get it there. It would just be really hard to cover though, so I'm thinking about other places.

Oh, and some other suggestions that people I know have.
My brother got the feet prints they took of his daughter on birth tattooed on the tops of his feet. This is a good tattoo because I don't predict his first born child ever falling out of favor with him.
Also, someone I know who is a huge superman fangirl got a superman symbol tattooed a little bit above her right breast. Thats decent because she probably will continue to like superman, its small and it can be covered easily.
Just be sure to think of something that means something to you in at least some small way that will stay with you.
Your first mistake right there. You should get a tattoo of something you feel genuinely attached to, not something you force attachment on to because you really want a tattoo. I thought about my first tattoo for well over five years before finally getting it and i plan to do the same with my next one. I've even printed out a picture of it and hung it on my wall so i can see it every day and simply get used to its presence.JUMBO PALACE said:So everyone, I'm seriously considering getting my first tattoo! I'm not sure what it's going to be yet but it made me curious about the tattoos maybe some of you have! Post a picture and maybe give a story to explain it. And if you don't have a tattoo, tell us if you want one and where you would get it.
Thanks man. Its always been really inspiring to me.Reynard Wrecce said:Good Dr King quote, like it. My sleeve is getting some T S Eliot winding through it. Oh believe me, I'm not stupid. I'm simply considering the possibility. I'm only going to get something tattooed on my body if it truly speaks to me.Willwillwritehiswill said:Your first mistake right there. All right, the tattoo gun does sting a little. (Don't go on an empty stomach btw. I learned that the hard way.) I describe it as taking a piece of broken glass and slowly cutting your skin with it. I recommend bringing an Ipod or something because the music will help you think about something else. Oh, after the first few minutes your body will release endorphins which dull the pain (typically they don't eliminate it). Also, do NOT use any blood thinners (Alcohol, Advil, etc) because it will make you bleed more. DO make sure that everything in the tattoo is 100% correct before you get it done. I've got an uneven cross on my arm (which I'm going to get covered soon) and I've got my wife's name tattooed on my ring finger (her name is "Morgan") and the "artist" almost spelled it as "Morqan" (Notice the "Q" instead of a "G"). Oh, and one more bit of info, the closer to the bone your tattoo is, the more it will hurt. I learned that when I got the one on my leg (a dagger through a skull with a banner wrapped around it that says "LIVE FAST LOVE HARD DIE YOUNG"). I've also got a vampire bite on my shoulder (before Twilight and True Blood. It's right above my clavicle with blood that comes over the clavicle and down my chest a few inches), a wolf howling at a moon on my other arm and that's it...for now.JUMBO PALACE said:So everyone, I'm seriously considering getting my first tattoo!
