I was just wondering how long it takes to get the check for a tax refund, I didn't do the direct deposit option so I'm getting it sent in the mail. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for it to come in (arrive?)?

I'm not getting one this year, anyway. But it all depends on when you filed. If you filed on April 15th, it'll come after everybody else's. It comes in the order they received it.

The timing of when you get your refund is dependent on when you filed. If you filed in April, it's going to take at least 6 weeks for them. The earlier you file, the less busy they are and the sooner you are processed and get a refund.

One time, I didn't get a refund until November, so I got interest on it. But then they reassessed me and decided I shouldn't have gotten a refund. Which made sense, since I originally calculated it as me owing them about 2 grand. So I had to pay the refund back, PLUS the interest that they deemed I owed them. Stupid goubberment, stupid mcguinty.

Should add - I don't do direct deposit either. Also, if you netfile and they feel they want to look at stuff, you'll have to send that in before you get a refund or anything.

It takes a long freaking time, its the government for you
How long is freaking long?
I never got mine :(
uuuummm, I'm afraid to ask now but when did you send your stuff in? (to get your tax refund back?)
2 years ago, but I moved during that time so it probably just got lost in the mail. I don't really care though, it was worth about $12.

That was mostly because I had some small business income, as well as unusual medical expenses (a couple years with no medical, then suddenly about 5k to claim) so I got audited, and then they failed in their ability to add.

Usually though, if I file in April, it has taken about 6 to 8 weeks from when I filed. I haven't filed yet this year as I have until June 15th, and a refund as small as what I've calculated isn't worth the time yet.
