The one question that's on my mind is... HOW?
What games should I start with?
I don't even know where to start >.<
And she really WANTS to...
...help?

Play different types of games with her. Probably on normal/easy difficulty. When she finds one fun, have her do what you would do... play more.

Women aren't all THAT different than men.

Clearly the only good starting point is Demon's Souls

Little Big Planet is simple and loads of fun.

But telling us what platforms you own can't hurt. :)

Here is what I did:
Got some money, took her straight to the local GameCrazy and told her to choose some games she thinks she might like.
Pretty much what I did afterwords was taught her the basics of most games she might play (rpgs, fps, blah blah..) handed her the control and let her figure out the rest.
Worked like a charm, now she won't even stop playing the damn thing.

I just figured if she wants to learn then she should learn the way I learned.

I thought my girlfriend to play Plant vs Zombies the other day. She thought it was fun but it didn't make her a gamer.

I have 360 with:
Soul Calibur IV
Oblivion
L4D (except she hates zombies)
Brutal Legend
Fable 2
Gears of War 2 (We've tried, had lots of fun w/ chainsaws actually)

I played a bit of Portal with mine. She liked it, but the spacial reasoning associated with first person shooters that comes second-nature to us experienced gamers is hard to comprehend for the non-gamer. I chose Portal since there's not that many enemies nor is there too big of a penalty for dieing. Plus, it's pretty darn awesome.

I don't think you should have to start her on easy stuff, just because she's new. Did you start gameing with the easiest games ever made? Probably not. So why treat her that way?

Just let her try a few games. Eventually, she will either find a genre or two she likes, or she just might not like games in general. It's that simple.

She's still learning how to walk, aim, and shoot at the same time. it's really very cute actually. But she does have fun on horde mode.

Oh, and I might introduce her to WoW at some point too

Buy her a WoW subscription for her birthday. if she doesn't play it she's ungrateful.
Or has a life. /badjoke

EDIT: I know a lot of couples that play WoW together. seems to work great. If only one plays... not so much.

Glad that I didn't need to learn how to play video games!

OT: Start her off with console RPG's. Oblivion isn't a bad place to start.

Play halo with her on co op, I turned like 2 girls into gamers just by playing co op on normal. Halo is accessible to anyone, you just gotta be there to hold her hand.

Stuff you can play together without too much competition initially. Old fashioned point and clicks are great as they have a load of story and humor so don't rely on the game aspect so heavily. In addition you don't really have to have much gaming know how so there isn't so much of a teaching dynamic as just having fun together.

I she's starting on a console (a real one, not any of that motion-control bullshit), make sure she knows the difference between the right and left analog sticks, and what they are used for. This is more complex for a beginner than one would think.
