So, I am new to the whole OJ box, but I have found the TF2 to be the funnest online multi-player game to date. My problem is that

a) I am still a relative newbie, and do get my ass handed to me most of the time (nothing but practice can really help that issue)

b) but my real problem is the people that seem to be able to get out of the world, and start walking/putting up turrets into the sky above my base doors.

How the hell do they do that? Could anyone shed any light on this phenomenon? Is there a Superman class I am not picking or something?

Nah, its a bug, youd think that theyd sorted it out by now. Also stay away froms ervers with admin powers, turrets are built immediatly at second stage... bloody annoying

Damn exploiters, really annoying.

There are some really good classguides on youtube that teach you tips and tricks beyond the basic mindless charge. Learning what class is good is what situation is the most important step towards mastery. Just play the game and have fun untill you figure it out and make sure to use taunts. ;)

The worst is as an Xbox player it gets annoying getting stuck with a group of tards or supreme badasses it means either you're gonna get you ass handed to you by an average team or have no fun as you complete the objective in first 5 seconds

Make sure you go to servers with the "VAC Secured" badge as well. One good server that I play all the time (when I'm not at school) is the NOOBGAMERS 24/7 2fort server. It's a great server with decent admins and they'll take care of you.

Just let them know Jack sent you and you'll have plenty of fun there.

No, like some above have said, it's a bug/exploit. These tend to pop up a lot on the 360 version of TF2. Valve has tried to remedy the problem but, as per usual, the Big M is finicky and up-tight with letting companies provide speedy updates and bug fixes to titles on Live. Also doesn't help that Microsoft completely f#cked up the online aspect of the game. A lack of any real dedicated servers screws the players, what with the intense lag associated with any server hosting more than 10 players.

If, however, you have the PC version, just avoid those servers. Some have mods active and/or run buggy versions of maps. Best policy is to just find another, which shouldn't be a problem with the thousands and thousands of servers out there.

Well on the bright side TF2 strongly de-emphasizes skill so it shouldn't take long until you can compete with other people.

b) but my real problem is the people that seem to be able to get out of the world, and start walking/putting up turrets into the sky above my base doors.

They probably found a "hole" somewhere in the level that allowed them to leave its intended boundaries. Sometimes I wonder how experienced, professional level designers can manage to leave those in, because they're trivially easy to prevent.

I have no idea how that works, because I've never seen it happen to me once really. I need to start playing TF2 again to see it happen

It's called Skywalking and it's fucking gay. There's nothing you can do about it short of kicking them after the match is over, skywalking yourself (Which I will never resort to), or leaving. Usually I just leave when I see people doing it.

Also, what's your gamertag? We can play together some time, and I can teach you things. Mine is Postraumatic (Like Post traumatic stress disorder, which apparently no one can ever figure out, judging by how many people call me "postramic" or "that post dude")

Its a bug, I've seen some weird ones happen, like spy permanently cloaked.
There is a Steam Community thread somewhere on these forums.

I got into the pc TF2 late after the pyro patch. Never seen it happen.
That's because you're using a PC, it's a lot harder to fix bugs on the 360 then on the PC.

You really expect people on Xbox Live to get a reference about post traumatic stress disorder? I wouldn't even expect them to know what post traumatic stress disorder is.

Yeah, the learning curve has caltrops scattered across it. It'll take you a while to know all the tricks of the game.

My gamertag is BoomingFowl. It doesn't really have a reference, I just used to drive a thunderbird, and that is just a stupid way of saying "thunder" "bird"

Has anyone else experienced a glitch (On 360) where as a Pyro, your flamethrower becomes permanently active, but never runs out of ammo?

It doesn't actually hurt anyone though, so it's just a graphics glitch. Switching to a different weapon and back again gets rid of it.
