I know a lot of people here play this game, and I've searched online to find solutions and come up with nothing.

So I just bought this game, and when I try to join a server (any server) It crashes while on the loading screen. I was able to join one game, once, while it was in the last 30 seconds of the match, and when the match was over and it switched maps it crashed again. I also tried starting my own game, which actually worked, so I think it's something to do with connectivity to other people. No idea whats wrong though... I've allowed all connections with my firewall, and I've played all the other Orange Box games from start-to-finish with no problems. Of course, the rest are not multiplayer.

My specs:

Intel Q8200
Geforce 9800GT
4GB Ram
Windows 7 x64

Update: Well I just installed Half-Life 2 Deathmatch for the first time in about 2 years, and it turns out I have a similar problem with that. I can join games, however after about 30 seconds it lags, everything freezes and I have to disconnect. A problem with multiplayer source games perhaps?

Really desperate to fix this problem now. :(

Try asking on the steam forums? Because I don't have a clue what's wrong.

I have a tiny problem with Team Fortress 2 as well, but I don't want to make another thread. In specific, the microphone sound quality. Everything is fine on TeamSpeak 3 and Windows Sound Recorder didn't show any problems, but in Team Fortress 2 my output is pure garble and static.

Any ideas of what's wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks guys, I fixed the problem though. Something to do with windows firewall being on in the background and blocking shit, I thought I had it turned off because I'm using Comodo. Then I had a seperate problem with MOTD crashing the game when a server loaded, and I had to mess around with a .html file in the TF2 folder to fix the problem. Lots of messing around but it's working now. :)
