I play Orange Box on 360(yes PC gamers, I know I'm getting hosed on free mods, levels, and new achievements), and in the last week or so, I've noticed a good number of games where people have changed the gravity of the game so you jump and float several stories in the air.

I assume there's no way to stop this from happening other than the impotent "File Complaint" system, but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this problem and if there's any way to do anything about it other than host your own game or find another one that works.

To the best of my knowledge that's a server configuration, and if you were able to turn it off you'd have either an advantage or a disadvantage over other players with it on/off. You'll need to find a server that doesn't have low-gravity.

Is changing the gravity a setting? If so, then there's nothing you can do but find a new server.

I've seen it on PC, but since it affected us all, I just found a better server without it. I think that should take care of it. If it's a server setting you can't really report it. :)

Figured there wasn't much to do about it. Just really annoying and wondering how people were messing around with their server on a 360 to do this. Seems like a lot of effort to annoy people who like trying to complete game objectives, etc.

It's a hack. Some people were talking to me about it while I was playing (on 360) with them and said that if you played a game with someone who hacked it, and you host a game before the next time you turn off your 360, the same thing will occur. It's not a changeable option, but if it annoys you (i'm usually a spy, trust me it annoyed me and was fun at the same time) just get out of the game, don't host until next time you've turned off and on your xbox, and join another one.
