Ugh, I iz pc elitest awesome (console elitist, actually, but I'll forgive you) and pc iz the best for TOB because of the still thriving community, and steam achievements so get it for pc nao ugh. If, however, there is some reason that you really want it for ps3, then go ahead, I'm pretty sure it wasn't that bad, and there is still a reasonable community, so you probably could find a game.
There you go.
Should I change it to buthurt PC Elitist?
But The Orange Box is better on PC. Not because FPS's are inherently better on PC, but because TF2 has a lot more people playing on PC, a lot more support and lots of new maps and other additions. Don't claim I'm a PC elitist, because I own The Orange Box for Xbox 360, if only because my laptop is so antiquated it's practically running on steam power.

EDIT: But you're right about the surplus of PC elitists.

If you have a PC capable of running it get it on the PC. I have a PS3, and the orange box. TF2 is still fun on PS3, but there are none of the Updates, new maps, bug fixes, etc. Plus few people still play it, and those that do never work as a team, or own headsets. I'm buying a new PC, and am getting TF2 again so I can play it properly.

If you only have a PS3 then get The Orange Box as it is excellent value for money, but if you have a choice between PC and PS3 version go PC.

Get it on PC, and yes people do still play it. There are full servers all the time. Trust me, you won't have a hard time finding people.

I'm about to play a game on the PC version now. I've got the X-box version as well but haven't played in quite a while.

That's good. If you played both versions or have a real reason to just play one version no one can blame you.

On the PC or Xbox 360? On the PC i imagine yes alot of people do. The Xbox version is dead due to no updates, which is very upsetting because i absoutly loved that game, and don't have a PC to play TF2 on the PC.
The 360 version is not dead, what the fuck are you on about? Whenever I get my 360 connected to Xbox Live, I play a couple of matches online, I host them myself, and they are filled up rather quickly.
I'll be honest, i havn't played TF2 on the Xbox for about a year probably. I stopped playing because i could never find a decent match, and when i did, there was always some knobhead who thought it was awesome to skywalk or hack the servers. After playing for months with no update for the cheats i gave up and moved on. Have never found another online shooter that i've enjoyed since.

I'd be overjoyed if you told me they had fixed these issues, playing that game again would be ace.

Yeah, Just as a Rule of thumb, Always get Valve on the PC. And you'll have many happy years with the Company

Grrrrr... Why everyone loves that game so much!
The orange box features some of the bestest games of the decade like Half Life 2 & episodes...

Yes, it's worth it for PC. I'd say it's worth getting on 360 just for Portal & Half-Life.

The Escapist TF2 PC group is one of the most active groups on this site.
Sure it's an active group, but I haven't had a game on the server for ages...

Unless your pc cannot handle it, you should definitely buy it on PC instead of any other console. On PC you get the following bonuses that the consoles do not get:

1) Free game updates from Valve (new items, hats, maps, game tweaks, patchs, fixes, etc.)
2) User-made maps
3) Plenty of full games, despite the time of day
4) Special events (such as the recent WAR event or the previous Halloween event)

That said, TF2 is a great buy on pc. I dunno about on console though.

"Do people still play TF2?"

Silly, of course they do...

It's TF2. It's not one of those games that comes along and goes "here I am!" and then dies. And it's being continuously updated, so it stays fresh (those are the best kind of games).
