I know he was Agro... but he was still beloved :D

Honestly how could anyone NOT know his name?? It was probably the most reoccurring sound effect in the game, making it the second most memorable sound after the sweeping "you are kicking the colossus's ass" music near the end of each battle.

If this game ever did a trailer with a voice over, I could so do it!

"This Summer prepare to love all over again. From the people that brought you ICO, and Shadow of the Coleuses, comes a touching story about a boy and his rat bird thing. Watch them love and grow, and face many hardships ahead."

I expect this to be awesome, even though the trailer really did seem like a Disney movie exclusive to Japan.

That creature is rather interesting. Its not a hippogriff or a griffin because it clearly has rat in it, or some kind of rodent at least. Its not a chimera either, they don't have wings and are part goat. It is an interesting mix-match of critters, however. Clever move, ICO.

even tho xbox 360 is very good to have been released in 2005, PS3 is much better having better graphics, games that make sense not just having to shoot the crap out of everything and its controller is a lot easier to adapt into having almost no changes. PLUS you get free online play and Blu-ray movie player.
Does the fanboism ever even take a break?

Anyway, hating the human race and bits of the culture I am part of aside, all I have to say is awww Griffin thing has a new toy.

It looks more like a baby Griffin to me...
I'd presume he means chimera in the general sense of 'an animal made up of parts of other animals', not as in a specific reference to the ancient Greek chimera.

I dont know.. that mouth looks awfully beakish to me..

and that tail might just artistic license... I wouldnt necessarily write it off as 'rat-like'.
After all, it could be an infant hippogriff or griffin...

Follow up to Shadow of the Colossus maybe? That looks sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
But the model of the kid definitely looked bad (it's definitely not the final model for him)

How can a REALLY big kitty-cat-rat-bird be bad. I am hoping that one of the bosses is a gigantic ball of string. The cat-thing would have an epi.

Looks like they took the SotC climbing gameplay and added an ally/puzzle twist to it. Consider me interested.

Either way, it looks like you'll somehow be exploring those ruins with it's help, adding a sort of puzzle solving mechanic combined with babysitting and tons of emotion, just like we saw in Ico.

Like our beloved horse companion in Shadow of the Colossus.. just... bigger..
Yes its a Chimera.

A Chimera by definition is a monster made up of multiple animals parts. A gryphon is a mix of Eagle with Lion. That thing doesnt look like a Eagle or a lion in any pissible way. That thing is a mix of cat/dog/rat/bird making it a true Chimera.

While you can argue that a Gryphon or even hippogriff can be chimeras, those two don't fit into the description of multiple or various animal parts smashed together.

So yes the monster in Project Trico is a sort of chimera

Does it make me a bad person since I've never heard of ICO?

I suppose it's may complete lack of ownership of any console but it looks so good I might have to steal my brother's.

The... creature looks like it was mostly live action video that was edited (very well mind you) to combine the cat, rat, bird, etc. features, which to me makes it look very odd and cognitive-dissonance-y. What seems exciting to me is the possibility of exploring the same areas on different scales, IE an enormous building to one is a perch to another, and a tiny hole is a doorway kind of deal.

My only qualm so far is, given the realism of the environment and the beasty thing, the boy looks out of place because of his non-realistic style.

Also, Team ICO REALLY loves that particular style of architecture, don't they?

Looking forward to more about this.

Sure, thats what I meant.
But seriusly, I was thinking about that kitty-cat-rat-bird thing and then you come along with your big ball of string and blows my mind away.

Also, love has little to do with looks as far as I know. But suuure, it helps ;)

The ball of string was my first thought in regards to seeing the cat thing. "That cat would need one mega-ball of string to keep it amused."
Think about the possibilities. In Ico you sat on sofas to save the game. Now there are giant sofas that the cat jumps up onto then circle a few times before lying down. You are chased by a large dog-bird-rat thing and escape by jumping up a well rendere fence. When the cats in the sun it just flops down and relaxes and gains back heath/heals.
