Have you ever found yourself using teamwork in a game that doesn't neccesarily constitute doing so? For example, I've been playing Gears of War 2 with my friends a lot, and when we team up with 2-3 lancers, WE'RE UNSTOPPABLE! Anyway, what games do you use teamwork in?

Hmm, teamwork in games where the game itself isn't entirely built around it. That's kind of a slippery question, any game that allows for cooperative multiplayer is asking for teamwork, it's just that most people see team based multiplayer games basically as any other deathmatch only with a group of people you can't kill.

Me myself and I, I am the exact opposite. I am capable and prefer to take games that are built towards co-op, and do them solo. Honestly. Friends are good, and can be fun, but when you get down to accomplishing something people are too disorganized and unpredictable. I prefer to rely on my own skills and when I can do as one person what it typically takes 4 to do.. it makes the accomplishment all the sweeter.

Example. one of the most proud exps of recent memory was killing off my 3 AI teammates in l4d2 at the begining and working my way through each level solo.

The biggest example of this is in MW2's online multiplayer - objective based matches can suck royally if you don't know your teammates and don't work together. The amount of people I've seen just racking up their KD and not capturing a single flag ...

I do love games where teamwork is required - like BC2 .. teamwork's encouraged in the sense that you're more likely to win if you play your character's role and help out teammates - and you get points and level up for simple things like spotting or chucking out ammo, which is win-win.

On another point, in multiplayer in RDR, I find myself randomly blowing up my teammates when I get bored. :p

Well, even though Battlefield 2 (not BC) also is built for team-based play, i often go solo, since at that game (and mostly only in that game), i love playing as a sniper. Don't know why, i just do.
But, teamwork often happens in games that aren't teamwork based. It happens especially when me and my friends are playing with microphones (a lot of the time we don't).
Examples are CoD2 , Warhammer 40 000, Medieval 2.

Multi-player and co-op games don't necessarily constitute teamwork?

What are you smoking, and where can I get some!?!?!

I didn't say co-op, I said multiplayer. You know how some games encourage you to go in rambo-style? I'm asking if anyone uses teamwork other than brute-force tactics in such games.

It's kinda hard to play them like that. My friends are all Run 'n Gun type players.
Well okay, sometimes I try to play MW2 online and play it tactically. Running from cover to cover, scanning for targets.....stuff like that. Just as I'm about to enjoy playing it, some guy with Marathon, Lightweight and Commando runs towards me and knifes me......... And then I move back to ArmA II
