Just need a little advice on issues of ram and PSU. I am getting a new mobo and processor (EVGA P55 FTW, and i7-860) now I need ideas on ram. I'm just going to go with x2 2gig sticks but am unsure of brand and the corsair sticks may just be a little to much for me.

As for PSU I'm looking at the Antec true power 750w and i was wondering whether or not that would be enough for what I've got so far (video card atm is hd5770) and in the future I plan on upgrading to something along the lines of two GTX 460s in SLI.

Remember for budgetary reasons that is the mother board and processor I am going with, so please unless its actually a good same price/cheaper alternative please don't be telling my I should be forking out for something in the i7-900 series.

Edit: Made title more relevant.

Do you have specific reasons for needing an i7 processor over the i5 series, which for gaming purposes, would be roughly similar in terms of performance? Unless you need hyper-threading, you probably don't need a Core i7 when you can get a Core i5 to do similar frame-rates.
I am looking forward to the hyper-threading. Yes, i've done my research on the processors. I just need some advice on the ram and PSU.

PSU would be sufficient, as far as the RAM goes you might want to shop Kingston KVR or Hyundai memory, they both have a lifetime warranty and they're priced pretty reasonably. You might also want to check Kingston HyperX but the prices are pretty much the same as corsair...

If it's one of the Antec power supplies that is rated to provide 750w continuous power, you should be fine. Just doublecheck that that is a part of the description.

If it's not rated for continuous power at that level, then you'll either want to pick another one that is, or bump up to one with a 1000w rating if your plan is to go with the SLI configuration. A PC with those cards in SLI, under load, can sustain a 600w power draw.

Any RAM from a reputable manufacturer will be fine. Don't bother with the ones with the ridiculous heatsinks and go for the more reasonably priced ones. Unless you're planning on overclocking your memory there's no need for it.

Thanks for the help, checked the PSU, the Antec TP-750 is continues power so it should be right.

Turns out I cant get the i7-860 from where I buy from, but I'm getting the 870 at the same price, that shouldn't change the power requirements should it?
