Tech Problem: Dvdrw drive not reading blank dvd's

ok, so i have a samsung TS-H552B cd/dvd-rw burner, but whenever i put a blank dvd, it shows up as a blank cd with 0 bytes available. now ive updated the firmware, done the registry edits (deleting upper and lower filters) uninstalled and reinstalled all my burning apps, and still nothing works, any help?

ya, just blank dvd-r's

Was just checking if you were using - or + format. I retardedly did that once. Luckily I had only bought a cheap 5 pack.
