I believe my Xbox 360 is close to crapping out. This obviously means getting a new one.

What I need to know is, is it possible to upload data from the storage device onto a new console? If so please tell me how

Can't you just put the harddisk into the new XBox?

There are data transfer kits you can buy that allow you to dump data from one harddrive onto another - I used one when I upgraded my 360 from it's original 20GB harddrive to a far more useful 200GB one.
