Technology you simply cannot live without?

So earlier today I misplaced my GPS and found myself in a ridiculous panic. You see, I have an awful sense of direction and even get lost driving to familiar places and my job constantly takes me to cities and towns I've never even been before. Hell I sometimes even lose my direction in buildings and quite often lose my car in the parking lot. I lose my entire sense of direction simply by spinning around, its that serious.

It made me realize I literally cannot live without this thing. Without it I would go back to the way I was before, leaving my home double the travel time early to get to an unfamiliar place through maps and STILL get lost. And I mean lost like driving an hour in the wrong direction lost. It's awful. My gps gives me such peace of mind that my head would explode without it now.

Anyone else addicted to or simply love some kind of convenient technology?

The internet.

Seriously, I hate not being connected 'to the world'.

I'm an information whore.

'Hmm, I wonder why the door tastes like blue. To the internet!'

I can't say I'm addicted to any one piece of technology but I do absolutely love my MP3 player. Not the exact model per se but just the device as a whole and all its functions. I really don't go anywhere without it. It makes passing time much more enjoyable for me.

Plumbing ... toilets, sinks, showers. Can't live without those. Everything else is bonus.

The bathroom light.

I can just imagine the horror on my wifes face if I missed the toilet due to pissing in the dark when i'm drunk.

My laptop is another since I use it for work a lot and I would be totally screwed without it.

Would that be before or after she slips and falls?

Personally music isn't enough to entertain me on long car trips. Instead I text or sleep or talk.

My PC and, by extension, the internet. If it weren't for these two things combined I wouldn't have been able to stay in contact with my friends, since I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere with the insurance conmen keeping me from affording a car.

Yeah pretty much this, I can live without everything else but I go mad if this isn't there, pretty much why I always pay my water bills first, seriously I need plumbing, I mean I wash my hands around every 10 minutes and I tend to shower 4-5 times a day, and without the toilet that's so very easy to keep clean I'd probably go insane, other than that maybe a stove because I love cooking food but there's other ways to cook so it's not a big deal, and candles can easily replace lightbulbs and the Internet though fun is something that's not really essential to me, it's basically just there for recreational purposes like this forum, and other Internet videos, and if I don't have it, well I have 2 large bookcases filled with books that used to be my grandfather's and I haven't read even 1 entire row of them, so I'm fairly sure that will do the trick.

Indoor plumbing. While I do live close to moving water, so does everyone else in the town, and it'd be a ***** to fight for drinking water every day.
