I didn't see a teddy bear in the trailer but I'll take your word for it.

Teddy bears, toy bunnies, dolls and all other related paraphernalia in the midst of a warzone is an old trick to tie the destruction going on around the characters to more normal life. It's a less than subtle way of saying "Innocent people died here! Be sad!" Call of Duty is all about cinematic gameplay, so I'm assuming that's why it was put in.

Another thing, you'll usually find a character goes to pick them up, and they'll almost always be blown to bits by a nearby landmine. Full Metal Jacket had a character do this, and he died. I could swear that Downfall also had something like it. I even remember seeing a baby carriage in Fallout 3, only to approach it and have a mine blow up in my face.

EDIT: Just remembered, a kid dropped a teddy bear in the very first cutscene of Red Alert.

dunno, also considering you saw that people with guns were in suits, im considering its going to be more urban based, and more towards terrorism in the streets... perhaps...

and the teddy bear is from like a house or something..

Yeah I believe there have been miscellaneous teddy bears lying around in all Call of Dutys so far. Nice touch, I think. I do love teddy bears. If one was in the trailer, it's cool to see they're conscious of and continuing the tradition.

While I love the new Nazi Zombie map, I want to punch the guy who thought that putting an evil teddy bear in the random weapon box was a good idea.

It wasn't a teddy bear. It was the terrorists newest WMD... the teddy-bear-lookalike Grizzly Bear.

Half the size, twice the awesome.

In Downfall, best Nazi movie ever, there is a part at the end where someone in a gas mask and some kind of protection suit is pushing a baby carriage.

More relevant to the topic, its a symbolism thing. Aside from all the guns and blood and bodies you see something soft and innocent. To me its the message "not just blood thirsty soldiers died. Innocents are the real victims of war."

He's the main villain. Or you play as him I'm not sure.

The teddy bear is symbolic of the humanity that gets shattered by war. Knowing some little girl dropped it while fleeing the pillaging armies is some powerful imagery.

Unfortunatly, such imagry is now a dime a dozen, so to speak.

That's because there are multiple booby-trapped baby carriages in Fallout 3. If you get close without setting it off, you'll see there's a doll inside.
