Well I've just started playing Dissidia (I know I know I'm late to the game) and realized that I've been calling Tidus "Tie-Dus" this whole time but somehow that's not right... Anyways, this got me thinking about Crisis Core and other games/crossovers that have given voice to things that used to just be in my head.

Bahamut, Nibelheim, Tifa, Mako, are just a few examples of ones that I had "wrong" the whole time and never knew it until I heard them for the first time, and those are just Final Fantasy! What bugs me though is that with only a few exceptions, the pronunciations that they use seem wrong according to the way it would be read and so surprise me when I hear them.

So my question is this:
What other things are being pronounced differently in games than you had imagined?

Should the localization teams in charge of the voice acting try a little harder to get it closer to what people "think" it is to avoid this dissonance and potentially distract from the game/movie/whatever? Or am I just being over-sensitive?

Obviously I'm mostly talking about game series that have made the transition from text to voice acting during their run, but there are some exceptions of course (since Tidus is in a voice acted game, it's just no one says his name!)
