Tekken x Street Fighter?

So as we all know Street Fighter x Tekken is out in a couple of months and I'm sure a bunch of you are excited (I was already thinking of buying it but Megaman sealed the deal for me ). Just one thing though; what the hell happened to Tekken x Street Fighter?!

I don't know about the rest of you guys but personally I prefer Tekken over Street fighter so a new Tekken game with Street Fighter characters seems even better to me, but there's been almost no news about it. They announced it last year and that was about it.

So does anyone know what's happening with it? Are Namco still developing it and just keeping it on the hush, or is it pretty much dead in the water? I hope not

The Cross games were basically started while Capcom's fighting division had nothing on their immediate plate besides continual rweaking of SF4, and SFxT uses an offshoot of that engine anyway. Plus, there's less work involved in deciding how to fit Tekken characters into a 2D system (despite common belief that every character in SF must have a fireball, there have been non projectile characters as mainstays in the series since SF1).

The Tekken team for Namco, however, had pretty much just starting post alpha work on Tekken Tag 2 when the Cross games were announced. The arcade version of TTT2 will, I believe, be out this summer and after that they will be working on the console porting process but will likely also be starting real work on TxSF. Most recent news on the game is that the game may be 1on1 instead of a team based fighter, may include a special guage for the SF characters (likely to manage their use of special moves that most of the Tekken cast doesn't really have, especially projectiles), and that the cast may be at least partially chosen by fan voting.

I love Tekken a bit more than Street Fighter (I've been playing Tekken since I was like eight). What I want to see, is some cool characters for the Tekken X Street Fighter, like some Soulcalibur characters or something.

Ah right, I wasn't aware of that. When's Tekken Tag 2 out? I loved the first one ^_^
