Hey, i'm getting ready to buy a new tv, but i don't really know anything about what's good or not and i was hoping that you, my fellow escapists, could give me some advice as to what to go for. I'm mainly looking for something moderately priced with a decent size (around 40') that's good for gaming. Lately i've been looking into the LG 37LH55 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV (mainly because i found it for about $650) but with black friday around the corner i was hoping you might know of something better

From what I've seen Samsung provides the best value and quality for LCDs, Hisense also make a good television at a good price but the only way you can really choose a television is to go into a store and compare them. Also keep in mind the warranty, you'll want more than a one year warranty so that has to be counted in the price, Hisense (in Australia at least) come with a 3 year warranty at a competitive price which makes it more worth the cash, I think bravias have a longer warranty aswell but they tend to be a bit more expensive, probably the nest quality available though.
