I just been watching some of my favorite episodes of the show today while I wait for the Superbowl to start. Its sad though everytime I think of there not being anymore episodes of it past the first season. Anyway discuss your favorite Firefly episodes, characters, moments, or one liners or ask questions about the show.

Some of my favorite episodes are: Our Mrs. Reynolds, Jaynestown, and Heart of Gold.

I've only seen the movie version, Serenity. It was pretty good but I guessed the big twist and I had to watch Steve the pirate from Dodgeball die...

I don't love Firefly quite as much as most people on the internet, and but I do think the show could have become something truly great.

The last episode ("Object in space" I think) was what made me appreciate just how good the show could be. One of the best hours of TV I've seen.

Object in Space is definitely my favorite episode. I enjoyed it for being a good show. I watched every episode and then the movie, but I wasn't enough into it to go back and watch it a million times. Its clever and well-done but its just not something I went head-over heels for.

Firefly is brilliant.

I cant really pick one episode out, but the one where Jayne gets his infamous hat was brilliant. I actually got a handmade one from a friend and I wear it constantly! :p

Brilliant.

i love Firefly. such a shame they couldn't do more episodes. film was good, though. don't really have a fav episode, they are all brilliant. fav character probably be either Jayne or River but they all have great distinct traits. with a lot of programs if someone leaves they just get replaced and it carries on, with Firefly if any of them left they couldn't be replaced.

The only reason I enjoyed Firefly was because of Jayne (Adam Baldwin) and Summer Glau. There were quite a few (or a lot) of inconsistencies with the world/background story that I found annoying, like how the alliance is supposed to be (US + Chinese), yet, I don't remember a lot of Asians character in the show. > . >

Edit: And why the hell did they have to kill the pilot and the priest (my 2nd fav character) :(

It's a tragedy that it got canceled.

Favorite episode="Out of Gas".

It made me realize that I actually cared about the characters. It also made the show being canceled even more of a tragedy, because I knew that I cared about the characters...

Loved the scene when Mal gets thrown out of the holowindow. Not enough moments like that in the series, although I still found it an enjoyable, witty show. Thought the film was pretty good too.

I think that the constant threat of cancellation is part of what made it great. Unlike all these crappy new reality shows that Fox knows will entertain the unwashed masses for at least a season, a space western was not a sure thing. This would naturally make Joss and Tim strive to make each episode as good as it could to be, in order to prove that this was a worthwhile show. I think they really could have gotten a much larger audience if Fox had just let the series continue for at least the rest of the first season.

I loved Firefly. I love it still. I guess people just didn't like it as much as the rest of us did... It could have been awesome, though.

My favourite episodes were the ones with that mafioso fellow. And the one where they found the empty space ship. I loved those the most. *sniff*

Jaynestown is my favorite episode, mainly because of the juxtaposition of "The Hero of Canton, the Man they call Jayne" and, well... Jayne. Plus it shows that Jayne's more than just a big dumb lug with a Callahan Full-Bore Autolock. He's that too, though.

As much as Joss Whedon is my king and Firefly is the greatest thing that almost happened to TV looking back I think he made a mistake right from the start that doomed the show. Watching the pilot, the actual pilot not train job that fox aired first, there's just too many characters and not enough time to get to know them. If he would have started out with just the core crew and expanded the cast over time it might have been easier to get into.

Does any one remember that John Doe was canceled to make Firefly a far better show but Firefly was good too.

I wasn't even aware that it was on TV, but then, I make a point of ignoring TV. (Yeah, I'm one of those pretentious douches.) I watched it all for the first time on DVD. It's hard to pick a favorite episode; maybe "Our Mrs. Reynolds" but I'd have to think long and hard. There wasn't a single one I disliked.
Any day now I'll see the movie. Really.

I can't remember the names of the episodes

Wikipedia FTW:

Trash and Our Mrs. Reynolds. Not only is Saffron pretty hot, but the episodes are pretty epic.
