So I am going to buy a new television.
Unfourtunately I dont have the slightest clue whats important, what's good and what are the websites where I can read what's good and important.

I do not request a full buyer's advice, all I want is a website where I can find one.

Any tips?

I'm no expert but I think the things to bear in mind are screen size, whether you want an LCD, LED or plasma, screen resolution (always go for 1080p) and whether you want 3D (no you don't, 3D sucks ass).

As far as I'm aware, you want a screen with a higher refresh rate (in Hz) and contrast ratio, but like I say, I'm no expert.

I'd suggest reading this article [http://www.techradar.com/news/television/hdtv/best-tv-2012-what-tv-should-you-buy-this-year-709255?artc_pg=1] as it can explain it far better than I can.

Hope that helps!

First off, I understand that LED TV's are the latest, most advanced stuff out there. I hear they're bringing this new stuff on they've been using in cellphones soon, but it'll be expensive. Generally, the more Hz, the better, but I think 100 Hz is pretty decent.

I'd also recommend getting FullHD 1080p while you're at it. I wouldn't recommend 3D, since the price versus the gain is just... Well, you know. The novelty of objects coming at you wears off quickly.

As for size, you'll have to decide for yourself. Consider the distance between you and the TV. If you sit up close, you won't need such a huge TV. I got maybe four meters between my couch and the 42" LED FullHD 100Hz TV. And it works just fine.

Also worth noting, some TV's with high Hz have trouble playing DVD's and other types of "older" media. My telly for instance plays DVD's and shows stored on my digital receiver a bit too quickly. I had to turn off the 100Hz TrueMotion feature. It's supposed to make older media look good, but it's just a load of bull.
