This is as good a thread as any to jump in!

- I'm from Chicago
- Replay Value is what I love most in games, I still play Parasite Eve 2 for PS1
- I enjoy Law, and I'm training/studying to be Law Enforcement.
- I play Ice and Inline hockey as a Goalie :)
- In recent months I quit WoW permanently. I can never go back, and my life has been 100% better ever since!

I've been watching Yahtzee tear it up since Jan 2008! Love this forum!

Nice extended table. I remember we had to try and learn it at school (the actual one). It never stuck in my mind.

Lets see ...

I understand people better than they understand themselves and almost always better than they are understood by their friends and family. I don't know why this is but the complicated workings of human culture and human psyche has always been clear to me even if I'm just meeting someone.

I read the Principia Discordia far too young (I was like 11 and I had even read the Illuminatus Trilogy before then) and it pretty much scarred me for life. I can no longer stand most forms of beurocracy and I actually have tried the turkey curse in real life (you can only understand this if you've read the Principia Discordia. You basically gobble and bounce around ridiculously in the hopes of paralyzing negatize beurocratic energy). Surprisingly enough it works.

I'm a really good astrologer/numerologist.

I have an Abe Lincoln beard.

EDIT:

Oh, and I have over 700 four leaf clovers. I also have like 200 five leaf clovers, 80 something six leaf clovers, 4 seven leaf clover and 1 eight leaf clover. My family has one of the largest collections in America.

I always argue against the majority if they are unopposed, even if i agree.

I think that the world is just a series of increasingly ignored grey areas.

I find myself narrating my actions in an internal monologue.

I read the same 32 books over and over in order, i barely need to read them anymore.

I think purplerain should give the pope a chance, he seems a nice guy, not the head of my faith but a charismatic man and is probably a good thing for religion.

Just started learning French and am desperately looking around for a cheap bass guitar to start up a band with some friends (yes, the band bug has struck us all).

Seconded. It angers me that the pope can shoot his mouth off on any issue he has with our government/country but if you do the same to him or the Catholic church it's somehow below the belt.

I also think Im falling in love with this forum, I only found it today, but it seems to be a small enough community to have close friendships and a large enough community to have lots of threads active. Also I know that guy who does the thing... video reviews with sarcasm... "zero punctuation" lives in Melbourne, but is this an australian magazine? that would be cool
Nah, it's not exclusively Australian. I'm pretty sure Escapist HQ is American but we're a cosmopolitan bunch. For example, I'm also a West Aussie and could point out at least two others, not to mention several other Aussies.

What weapon and what style? Do you mean fencing or are you talking about more serious business?

Thanks. Nice to know it was appreciated; it took like 4 hours to make that. ALl the numbers and words had to be typed by me and spaced individually. All 518 completely not fake elements. (See if you can find the ones together that make words)

Wow, I thought I was alone on this issue. That or crazy.

Pfft. He invented anouther 10 deadly sins out of thin air; one being stem cell research. Now this guy thinks he can appologise to abuse victims of the cardonal church. What's that going to achieve for the small children raped by priests? Oh, if the pope's sorry then that's ok by me.

Nah, the Pope is on the list. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind religion and beliefs, but for a structure based on giving and not being proud, he sure is doing nicely on his silky golden bed probably fanned by ten slaves. Gah, I hate him. Plus the new one looks evil so he's more easy to hate then the previous.

I'm living in a house with a rabid catholic who raves on about the Pope (she's my future mother in law, worse luck). I just keep my gob shut on my opinion of him. I've been forced to listen to his teachings, and frankly, I can't agree with anything he says, nor am I a fan of catholic dogma in general. Actually any dogma i dislike- I prefer people to think for themselves. it's not that I'm against people having religious beliefs, I just don't like organised, institutional religion, or people trying to force their beliefs on others (which extends beyond religious beliefs- i dislike evangelical atheists just as much.)

I work as an analytical chemist and I only really log on to The Escapist when I'm at work.

This is because I am too lazy and cheap to bother getting broadband installed in my flat. As a result I do not play muliplayer games, save for those that are hot-seat or split-screen (which appear to be distinctly scarce nowadays).

The following statement is a lie:
To tell you the truth I have "Be Warned" tattooed on my left hand.

I've always wanted to properly pronouns, "Ph'nglu mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'yleh wgah'nagl fhtagn."
Then I'd scream it on the street like a mad man and hang myself in the usual HP Lovecraft fashion.

You would most likely never catch me fencing. I am a real swordfighter. Broadsword, longsword, katana, claymore, bastard sword, florentine, etc.
And not that choreographed stuff, either. I am talking real, unchoreographed swordfighting. We don't inflict real harm, but injuries do happen.

And not just swords. Actually, if it's got a blade on it, I can use it effectively.
Hell, if it's a melee weapon I can use it.
