Possibly the best connection between violent acts in video games and real life has finally been revoked! Unfortunately, making video games acceptable for the public masses is still going to be an extremely slow process, but this is a pretty good step in the right direction.

This just in: Teenaged mass school-shooters might be psychologically unsound.

Wow. Why are people so slow that it took TEN FLAMIN' YEARS to catch on?

From the University of NoKidding, comes another report on things a two-year-old could figure out.

My question would be, who actually thought video games had anything to do with Columbine. Please raise your hand so we can slap you.

They did it with Rock n Roll music, then D&D, then back to music with Marlyn Manson, then video games, and the next scapegoat I believe will be Facebook-style social networking, or the iPhone.
I got $50 on 4chan.
I'll see your 50, besides, ive got a 50 quid outside bet on Wikipedia...
I'll see your bet, and raise you a Penny Arcade.

They have blamed all sorts for the columbine. They had videogames, films, tv shows (Specifically South Park- Ironic as the inventors of South Park came from Columbine High School), music and their main target for influence was Marilyn Manson, who got banned from about 48 states until the mother of the offenders stated that the students had never listened to Marilyn Manson in their life, and he was just targeted as he was doing a gig nearby at the time. Even a year after this was found out he wasn't allowed to perform at a venue in Columbine as part of the Ozzfest tour, the council didn't allow it. Meanwhile, the council did (Ironically) allow head of the National Rifle Association Charlton Heston to visit the town and deliver a speech about the fact that guns are a useful way of defending yourself.

Now, who do you think is a bigger influence? The president, who ordered the longest one day bombing ever on the very morning, 2 hours before the columbine incident? The world's largest nuclear missile manufacturer, whose main factory is situated in the town of Columbine? The head of the NRA, who was allowed to visit Columbine by the local council (Despite the protests saying that he WAS an influence of the cloumbine incident) and talk about gun ownership and how good it is? Or a heavy metal singer, who sings some offensive lyrics, who the kids had never even heared of, and who just got all the blame from it?

Khell, I couldn't possibly say it better myself. What saddens me is it took this long to release that these kids were just plain nuts? This long to realize that games didn't make them do it? But then this is the same species that took 32 years to figure out how to put cheese on a hamburger (thank you Bob and Tom show!)

you forgot about the number one cause of school shootings, TV and watching saturday morning cartoons!
Arguably, the number one "cause" of all mass shootings is TV news coverage of mass shootings. Of course, no TV news coverage would ever report that...
